I was at that game in 82 when Rozier broke that first run they highlighted from the K-State game. Blew right past two dudes coming off the sharp cut who both had angles on him. That was a great run, not a real long play. I think it was 27 yards. Mike had 204 that day, but was knocked out of the game in the 3rd quarter with a Hip-Pointer. Wasn't expected to play the next week against Missouri the following week, but came off the bench Mid way through the second quarter to gain 139 yards vs. the Tigers in a very close contest.

Great game and great announcers. CBS was becoming a big name in college football broadcasts this season but ABC was still king at this time with Keith and Frank behind the microphone.

1982 was the first season CBS had college football since 1963. In 1982 the NCAA went to a two network approach with the TV contract.

Just think about how many years upon years Nebraska and Oklahoma had their fingers on who played for the national championship or was playing for it and how dominant the big 8 was for all them years

It just sucks the only thing that really sucked about being a Husker fan back and all this was it seemed like every year we were running into Miami or Florida State it's like you just couldn't get a break

Is the Oklahoma quarterback the same Kelly Phelps that got blown up on that kickoff return in the 1978 game?
@stevewestra12682 ай бұрын
Y,es he was leveled by John Ruud on that controversial play.

If Kelly lives to 100, he will never forget that hit from Ruud in 78.

Hilariously dumb comment at the end after the fans stupidly rushed the field with 26 seconds left. "It cost them an opportunity, I mean, they probably wouldn't have scored anyway, or they probably would've. . .knowing coach Osborne, probably would not have forced the ball in to the end zone. . .but still! In a big game, if they'd had the chance, and they were behind, it would have made a lot of difference." If Nebraska was LOSING this game, why would the fans rush the field on a play that didn't result in a go-ahead touchdown? They were ready to storm the field because Nebraska was leading, and this interception clinched the game. Pointless and stupid comment 😄 Also very disappointing to see our fans storm the field like that even though the clock wasn't at zeroes. Too much Sooner magic for years to that point to storm the field before that clock expires.
