Nice video. Interesting to see not that much has changed on that drive, although New Brighton itself has changed a lot.

Are you kidding ! New Brighton has had a complete makeover since then. New theatre and bowling alley. The Morrisons supermarket, Light cinema and hotel complex. Bubbles nursery, new restaurants and cafes. The conversion of the Chelsea Reach nightclub into apartments. The demolition of the Grand Hotel etc. I live just along the coast. They drove past my house. Things have changed enormously, thankfully for the better.

I bet you wish you still had that Capri with the money they fetch now. Very few cars on the road and what few there was they looked far better than the crap we have today that all look the same. I bet to own a video camera back then would've been quite expensive (I'm assuming it was one that you had to carry on your shoulder). Bought our first camcorder in 1990 and cost £500 which was expensive back then.

Closest I will get to going back in time. My dad had a Capri exsactly the same as that one but with a biscuit coloured interior id love tk6 own that car now. Good old days, amazing videos. I don't suppose theirs any ones from the tranmere ereas?

Great vid. Used to go to the Granada bowling alley all the time with my mum n dad n siblings. Happy days. What stands on that site now? New Brighton looks like a shopping centre by the beach now :/

It was an old mental hospital!

@@davefool6815 It was originally a children's hospital then changed to an infectious illness hospital, towards the end of its life, it was a mental hospital. I moved away in 2000 and i think the building was still their but had long closed down. Not exactly sure when it got demolished, I think the land is still flat. Its scary how fast time passes. I see comments I made years ago and think it was only the other day!!!!

@@SamM-oh2cx it's actually a new estate of flats and houses. I remember them being built but for some reason I couldn't remember the old building

@@davefool6815 I am not surprised its been knocked down and turned into housing, it was quite a sized building but it had been neglected. I discovered yesterday, most of cadburys around the corner has been knocked down also!!! Was genuinely gutted when I heard that!!!!
