I do not recall reliability issues with Morinis.... Neither I nor among friends who had them. They are an acquired taste. I am not a devotee, but I had Morinis and rode them both on the road (including courier work) and on track and on longer trips across the Alps and into the western Balkans. They were/are characterful and always seem willing. Not the fastest, not the fiercest, bit delightful to steer and aim and sweep through bends. A friendly puppy more than a tough-guy bike to brag about. But memorable in their own way. And very, very small.

I had a late 1970ies Morini 250 single cylinder. Electrics got shot after 2months and the crown nut that held the exhaust in the cylinder has vibrated the threads out of the aluminium of the cylinder head. I bought it used and the dealer took it back and did not ask too much to replace it with a used Kawasaki Z200 which really was a problem free bike!

I had a Morini 500. Lovely bike, beautiful handling. The engine seized on me twice though. I was told that the fuel tap was the same as the 350 and simply wasn't allowing enough fuel through at high speed. The fuel line ran out of the tank to one carb, then across to the other. The second cylinder was the problem. I was told that the best solution was to open the reserve tap too, as that allowed fuel directly to the second carb. I also visited the Morini factory when they were building and testing the 500 turbo. One of the factory guys brought it out for a ride round Bologna.
