Nothing like a World Series game during the daytime!

We haven’t had a daytime WS game since 1987, and the last one scheduled was in 1988, but the Dodgers won the WS before it got to a Game 6…

The second inning epitomizes what I loved about baseball and the Cardinals in the early to mid-80's. Speed, speed, speed. They wound up with two runs off of one hit. Ozzie scored from second on a sac fly. They knew how to manufacture runs.

Around the 31:00 mark they made a great comment about how a speedy base runner will effect a infielder, pitcher and a catcher. Then 2 batters later they score 2 runs on a SAC FLY! Its amazing how speed on the bases have left the game of baseball but someday it will comeback. Its slowly starting to now in 2023

Also amazing how Garagiola saw it coming. Before the ball reached Thomas he said "this will score AT LEAST one". I was at this game. We were sitting a few rows behind the dugout behind the third base line (before we got kicked out, we had standing room tickets), so we had a great view of this play.
