My brother had the white version of this. At the time I had an new 1983 Honda XL600r and these two bikes would run neck and neck up to 105mph. Good times!

Tom Rynkewicz I’ve been eyeballing an 87’ , I didn’t know they ran out like that. It should make a great dual sport shouldn’t it?

@@deborahchesser7375 absolutely! Not sure if they all ran the same or made the same power as they got newer but man it was really a surprising engine! I also ran against a buddies 1981 Suzuki GS 750 and he couldn't catch me till around 60mph. Seemed pretty decent on gas mileage as well. I'm almost thinking about finding one like I had just to relive how much fun that bike was....it was THAT good!

Yamaha XJ550 was my very first road bike 30 yrs ago and I miss it :(

I had that exact model bike I had. I bought it brand new in 1982. I would love to have it.

I had to spray ether into my '82 Seca 550 to get it started. Still I really enjoy that bike.

That xj-550 was/is the middleweight champion of the world. That brand new example is ready for anything museum,daily rider, even cross country☆☆☆☆☆

Barry McCokiner true, both good bikes. As far as small displacement bikes the RD/RZ’s can’t be touched

Hey Ken. Just wanted to say I hope your New Year's going awesome so far. And this may sound like a strange quote. I just wanted to say those hardwood floors in your Museum are absolutely gorgeous look like there's 50 coats of clear on them whoever keeps them up does an amazing job. Well take care of my friend and keep on keeping on.
