This song was massive when the movie originally came out. Meco actually made a song for each of the trilogy and they were all massive hits, couldn't escape them on the radio. You probably know the Star Wars Disco theme one most, that's the one that seems to have survived time somehow.
@Kohntarkosz2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I'd never heard this either, and I'm actually familiar with some of Meco's other Star Wars related (including the Darth Vader's Theme/Yoda's Theme single and the Star Wars Christmas album he did).

This song gave me a nickname. When I was in College I was on the school's radio station. My first on-air shift (which technically I was filling in for someone before my first scheduled shift and I had to get some "by the seat of your pants" training) I played this song about a half hour into my shift and introduced it imitating Yoda I said "Yoda says it's time for The Ewoks". The other DJs and radio staff heard it thinking I was calling myself "The Ewok" and the next day some of them started calling me "Ewok" and it stuck. I didn't intend to give myself an on-air nickname but what the heck. At first I didn't like it, but I gave in and went with it.

Oh, what memories ... my kid brother and I listening to this song on the AM radio (where it was being played every 30 minutes or so) ... trying to rap along with "Threepio" during the middle part ... and when the song was nearly done, one of us would go over to the radio, grip the volume knob, wait until the very last two notes were about to play and quickly turn the knob ALL the way up so that the radio would scream that final "YAW WAH!" And then getting yelled at by Mom for doing that while we laughed our butts off...

I totally remember this!!! Since then, they revised the ending of Return of the Jedi with the rebel spaceships flying over the planet cities, with instrumental music entirely different and an older person/spirit appearing as Anakin Skywalker with Odi Won Konobi and Yoda. I remember this song at the end when they 1st showed Return of the Jedi in summer 82/83. This by Meco was on the radio that summer as well! Meco did the original disco version/ A New Hope in the 70s when Star Wars 1st came out as well😍👍👍👍🎵🎶
