Dylan shares the story of this beautiful example of English engineering which he bought in England as a bare shell, brought back to Gibraltar and restored to the beautiful car it is now. The projects isn't nearly done yet but already looks like a gem. Thanks to Dylan for sharing the story with me and everyone who might be watching.

the legendary 1972 austin mini cooper, just as legendary and fun to drive as the Beetle. A friend of mine invited me for a short trip in her mini and I was sceptical at first if my 6 ft 2" frame would fit on the front passenger seat. No problem, but it felt as if I was driving in a go-cart, lots of fun.

I was also pleasantly surprised when I first met Dylan and the took me for a drive in the mini. I'm 6.4 and fit in the mini better then some modern cars.

Cheers to you from Montreal Mate! My Dad got my family into Minis when I was 20 (so in 1988) - we had my 1979 998, my sister's 1980 998, my Dad's 1970 850 (with automatic transmission!), our 1967 Mini Moke (also 850) and some random parts car... Mum was not impressed cuz we didn't have a garage, so they were all lined up in our driveway :) but we loved them. I bought my 998 for $1600 CAD in 1988 and sold it in 1999 for $3500 CAD. I'm told it's worth upwards of $10000 CAD these days. Crazy! Thanks for bringing back very fond memories!

Nice car, I too have an 84 started as a 998 livin its best life as a 1293 race spec head twin hs4’s fast road cam and lightened flywheel.

Most of the power comes from the head on these cars, bore it, gas flow the head, cam it, you will be amazed at the difference, and also bigger carb

I have not driven the car but was sat in the passenger seat. not as practical as regular mirrors but for how good they look they are good enough

When he says toe’d in does he mean cambered? Hands suggest camber. Toe in is like cross eyed. Just curious. Either can cause excessive tire wear though toe in would make steering a nightmare plus tire scrubbing

Im assumig toed it, assuming he was thinking of looking at the car from the top. Cambered would wear the tyres but i dont think it would affect driving too much

Honestly not sure, i know it was repainted so depends if they used annoriginal color or jot. But the grey looks great.

Be better putting a honda v-tech engine in it,and cant you use some loctite on the exhaust bolts?

Just fit BMW motorcycle twin cam 16v cylinder head...There is a kit for this..120hp

Honestly Dont supercharge , its a nightmare to keep cool. Save your money, buy a more modern engine if you want to go propper fast
