All Corvettes are special, the 84 was a product of an unfortunate time in the US auto industry. GM was forced to squeeze the engine due to emission laws, slowing it down a bit. The sales weren't slow, setting records for the Vette, almost 52,000 sold. It helped that there was no 1983 Vette, and it's a complete revision.

Welcome to the vette family... I own an 86 Indy pacecar convertible C4 myself. Mines is a tune port, automatic, but a blast to drive. I also have a couple of C3's. If you need help with info or where parts are, get with me.

Been watching your videos 2 years ago I purchased an 84 Corvette last year bought new tires now im gonna do shocks hoses rotors pads got plenty of things to do on this car thanks for the information

That sounds like an awesome game plan Sir, I say preservation is the name of the game. It's a little bit heart breaking to see any car just get hot rodded to death. I don't got one yet but I'm planning on getting one in the near future. I'll definitely be watching....

I own my 84 Corvette 31 years now I know it like the back of my hand .actually the crossfire is way easier to work on than the TPI....Common failures on the crossfire...idle control valves number one,throttle positioning sensor number two.vacuum leaks number 3...and the big one is there are three sensors for the cooling system.the one on the passenger side next to the number 8 cylinder that is to tell the fan to kick on and off..the sensor on the driver side is for the temperature gauge ...the last one is always the one that everybody misses and they put a carburetor and a manifold on because they're not reading the manual or they just don't know.because that's the one that talks to the ECM to tell the car if it's hot or cold and how much fuel to deliver...that one is located in the front of the engine above the water pump....

Just by listening to this 18 minute video you know your stuff,Good Luck with it and most of all enjoy each repair you do on it.there's nothing like working on a car that you really really enjoy owning and driving .....

Check for cracked floors and the date on the tires

Floors are in good shape the tires are 6 years old so I will replace them in the spring. Thanks!

I'm a old GM mechanic and actually bought it to rebuild it. I don't really care much about driving it I will probably sell it when I'm done putting it back together.

I just viewed your video on replacing the outer window seals in your C4. The comments are turned off so I travelled here for some assistance. I did the same job on my 1991 which uses those horrible clips (which are really not made to install or remove). And they make what should be a real easy job really difficult. I like the idea of removing the clips and adding a few more rivets even on the later C4s which use the awful clips. How many more rivets did you use? The window would interfere with some rivet placement. Was there any impact to that area given it was not as secure as the rest of the seal? I don't expect you to remove that door panels again, but if you do, please add some video of where you added the additional rivets. Thanks.

I ended up not adding any aditional rivits to the seal. From the factory there were 3 rivets (on a 1984) and I replaced them. But I did not add any addtional rivets to support the areas that had the clips it work well with no rattles or loose areas. I will try to turn the comments back on Thanks for letting me know you could'nt comment there.
