I remember 2 MARMON conventionals running together, bobtail south of hwy 54 on I25 in nm. Weird looking, then realized they were armoured up...25yrs ago...

Impressive! These old trucks were the best! Maybe not sensors and computers, but old fashioned mechanical and really fun to drive. Really enjoy your shoots and drawings, so keep up the great work and hope you continue doing so into the distant future.

Everyone needs a truck with armor, bullet proof glass, and an escape hatch. I can understand why the government bought a Marmon. Marmon was not a big assembly line, mass production manufacturer. Marmon was more of a hand built manufacturer, so it was probably easier for them to build a one-off, armored COE than for one of the big makers to build one.

I saw when you met Steve from FSC Trucking at MATS 2023, your husband had a Marmon belt buckle. 👍

I used to work for agency that used these Marmons. We trained on them to get our CDLs. They are very reliable trucks. Each one was specifically designed for what we hauling.

I remember seeing these, while, on the road years ago, they would have a lead vehicle and a chase vehicle with government Officials in the chase and lead vehicles a lot of times

The more I watch , the more I wish I had it. Not sure about the allison , like a 15 with the big hole to the dash. So cool. USA took over some operations with speced Trucks and Trailers. Always unmarked 4 wheelers front and back. Ran into one getting fuel , always one armed man inside all times . One done the other could go in. Got a glance of 2 shotgun mounts and 2 .45 righ beside on each side of those. Jokingly tried small talk , he would just say never know whats secured inside or exactly where going till close. Asked about the the fire arms he just stared ahead and said what weapons , ok I got ya , have a great trip. The Conventional is awesome as well.

I have to feel bad for anybody bidding on a truck against the Tackaberry’s……if they want it, they get it. George, Charlie and the rest sure do fix them up nice though and they’re about the only muiti-millionaires I know who are so dedicated to preserving trucking history.
