Memories of my youth right there. Worked for a guy named Gil Smale back when I was a young fella… Him and his partner from Jag Services on Cleveland St Sydney raced one of these each, for Ansett Air Freight at several meetings a year around the tracks.

Elsewhere here on YT is Tom Walkinshaw's pole-winning lap for the '85 1000 at Mt. Panorama. It is another worth watching. Glorious machines. I'd love to have one like example vintage prepared but streetable for, you know, touring.

I think Ken Purdy, who was an automotive Journalist, described the sound from Walkinshaw V12 Jag as having the sonic finess of a bull farting in a chaff bag.

I believe the speed limit is 55mph. He is in danger of getting a speeding ticket and no muffler will get written up too. If people would leave the house a few minutes earlier, there would be no reason to rush.

No, the Morris Cooper S won in 1966, although the race was slightly shorter then at 500 miles/800km.
