I took the little extension off the air box and sealed it to the fender and drilled holes behind the right headlight bezel. I have a 81 c10 California emissions compliant with a 06 5.3

That brown stuff looks like Permatex 20539 Indian Head Gasket Shellac Compound. I use it when installing engine block core plugs (freeze plugs). Would not want to use it for a transmission gasket.

If only you were on youtube 40 yrs ago when I had my Pontiac Grand Lemans 78, I would have tried to hold on to it. I know it was a car, but this video of terms brang back good memories. I, second owner, only had a problem with the alternator, and changed it out. After that, the car was perfect, a smooth fast ride, shiny, black 2 door with white interior, no rust. Great car. You've gone the extra mile on the customers truck to get to your standard. Good job.

Dear JCSP. At about 18.40 min: This suspicious sealant material looks to me as if it is a formerly common known and very often used window putty (based on linseed oil). Even the light brown respectively beige colour fits. I guess that you guessed the same!?

If your using the factory radiator you have to pull the upper radiator hose and fill the block the thermostat is reversed on the ls so it will be on the lower rad hose and you will fill the radiator but not the block

That intake should be TIG welded 😂

The exhaust should go on the top side of the transmission crossmember.

Brown looks like old shellac.

It’s a good thing that you changed the transmission filter that looks like some type of household sealer. What type of oil pressure line did you use? Even with the heat shield you may want to consider a copper pipe tubing.

That is weather stripping glue aka gorilla snot.

It is hard to imagine what that brown crap was on the transmission pan other than household caulk that comes in a brown color. I have a set of those thread chasers and use them all the time,
