19th Annual Country Music Awards, held on October 14, 1985. This is from a 30+ year old VHS tape and it's a little rough in places, but was in surprisingly good condition given its age.

My momma passed away on this day, in the morning. It was the first cma awards show that I ever missed as my momma and I always watched together even if we had to talk on the phone while we both watched from our own home. I miss her and these special people every day

Honestly...This seems more real than any other year since. Country was real back then and All the years before....I've watched it go sideways and down hill and these days...sure some of the music is AMAZING, but the lifestyle isn't there ...and that's the true essence of country western music. The past will never be forgotten and will live on with the music. Thank you for uploading this.

Such a nice thing to watch for 1) the music the way it was then..... but most importantly 2) the speeches were humble....no political statements or grandstanding.

Gene Austin -Unfortunately real country music no longer exists, unless you have Sirius XM Satellite radio in your car, and have it set to Willie's Outhouse, which plays nothing but the old country his of long ago. Only bad thing about that channel is they don't play songs by The Judy's, Johnny Duncan,Sylvia, Reba McIntyre, or Alabama, to name a few.

Living in Nashville, I have seen most of these stars in person! I use to see Earl Scruggs often eating at a local restaurant near my home. One time, as he got up to pay his bill, he reached to the table and grabbed the last piee of corn bread and put it in his pocket. LOL

This is just GREAT. GOD was mentioned sooo many times. Nowadays you will never hear that at awards shows. This country was founded on GOD. WE put him first in everything. Now we have took him out of everything. And people wonder what's going on in this country. Time is short yall, Seek the Lord while He may be found. Your not promised tomorrow.
