OMG that's my bike! I bought the exact same bike in 1985! That was my first bike and I loved that thing. I went to Laconia one year and then took it to Canada. That was a great bike!

I'm on the verge of obtaining one from '86, with 23K miles on it. After 38 years of not having ridden a large bike, I bought a Honda CBF600SA from 2010, which I drove for 15 months, now, there wasn't anything wrong with it, but I didn't like all that plastic wrapped around that bike. Remember back in '77 I had a Suzuki GS750 (marvelous bike, but you can't find them anymore, or it's for a heap of $), and that Suzuki was of the naked-bike look. So, suddenly I sold that CBF to a guy from Belorussia (next owner will likely live in Minsk or so). Started looking for a naked bike, and stumbled onto a Honda CB750 F2 at first, then a Suzuki GS850 from '80, but although it resembled my former GS750, it's way too heavy. Then I saw the ad of this Sabre, it's smaller, advantageous for me, as I often drive in traffic around town, I know that the V4 engine with its 90 degree angle runs very smooth, the shaft drive I like, as well as the 6-speed gearbox and the liquid cooling. Can buy it for $1500,- so I gather that's not too much, the guy has some chromed exhausts for me, as well as 3 panniers too. I think I'll let the small front fender be chromed too, it enhances the side-visibility for other traffic, as the engine block, well, it's all black....Put on yellow striping for the wheel rims too.

I really hope the owner didn't pay $500 for a set of tires 👀 Regardless, I really love my '85. Fine piece of 80s machinery and surprisingly quick.

Can i ask How much is the value on this motorcycle ?
@DISEASEOFNORM2 жыл бұрын
1500-3000 USD depending on your area. This one is nice so probably more towards 3000. Some people might be able to get more but I wouldn't pay that.

If you change the oil, why wouldn’t you fix the carburetor.
@DISEASEOFNORM2 жыл бұрын
Oil changes on these are cake. Carb cleans not so much unless you mix some cleaner in the fuel but still not as good as removing the tank and actually getting to the carbs to clean them.

I just serviced the carbs on ‘82 Sabre I just purchased. Everything above and beside the carbs has to be removed (tank, coils, air box, left/right air cleaners, coolant pipe) before removing carbs. And due to tight quarters, getting them back in requires great patience.
