Few vehicles scream ‘supercar’ more than the Lamborghini Countach.
For some it’s DiCaprio in the Wolf of Wall Street. For Dave it’s the iconic poster car that he woke up to every day of his childhood.
Benny’s not a fan of it’s spaceship looks and scissor doors but will it’s on-road performance change his mind?
-
It's all about the drive...
And, if the journey can be done again, but faster - then all the better.

Hits every trope of a Countach review - every kid had this poster, should you meet your heroes, and you have to man handle it. Don't get me wrong, always fun to see a nice vid of the Countach, but it seems like everything that needs to be said of the car has already been said.

,Enzo left him waiting for 45 minutes the last time Ferruccio visited to complain and Enzo said he wanted no advice from a maker of Tractors.. The irony was that Lamborghini's Tractor Clutches were stronger than what Ferrari were currently using at the time and I'm pretty sure Lamborghini's first car the 350GTV had a Tractor Clutch and so did many models after.

Yes the countach is a Beautiful car.the only time I saw one was when I was 8-9 years old at a car show. I remember it had velvet ropes around it and it was black with white or cream colored leather seats. Had no idea what it was. But if I had to choose between two cars of that particular period I’d probably choose a Testarossa. It’s got the power but looks better in my opinion. And you’d probably could drive it across the country if you’d wanted too.. and hour in the countach is like going to the gym and it’s not comfortable. But I can appreciate it for what it is and isn’t. Diablo changed all that silly stuff eventually. I do remember my neighbor having this car on his was. White with white wheels and giant wing.

Interesting to see what Lambo used from the "parts bin" when making the Countach. Column stalks for horn/wipers etc are Lucas leftovers from the Triumph TR7/8 model and front indicator park lights are Carello and identical to the Ferrari 308 GTB/GTS series. However the Countach is still pure automotive porn and a sex symbol in 2021!

Is there a significant difference between left hand and right hand drive versions, it seems almost every LHD video review screams they’re uncomfortable, people can’t fit into them, the clutch is monumentally heavy, gear changes are stiff.... yada yada yada, yet the RHD reviews are its a dream to drive, it’s joyful
@firstnamesecondname5341
@firstnamesecondname5341 3 жыл бұрын
@DeadlyButSilent2 there are a few misnomers about the Countach though, the steering column as demonstrated by Valentino Balboni is actually adjustable for height and reach, it just requires a spanner 🔧 and a second person to tighten the bolts while the driver holds the wheel in the desired position and the second was there actually where different options for the drivers seat rails depending upon the height of the owner/driver, a few customers but not many ordered a third seat in order to have swappable options depending upon the driver, it had shallower rails to allow for a driver of 6ft or slightly more to be comfortable in the car... the one issue I’d heard of but no one ever definitively answered (partly I suppose because there are no physical present LHD vs RHD or low body vs non later reviews of the cars on line, a 4 car comparison). But was concerning the alignment and positions of the clutch pedal, on right hand drive cars is it inline with the drivers hip so offers a comfortable if firm action, but on the left hand drive cars because of the wheel well is the clutch pedal positioned past the centre line of a persons hips thus with extensive pressing on the clutch pedal does it cause pain in the left hip, I’d heard it does but those same people have never driven a RHD car. It’s an issue the right hand drive models wouldn’t suffer from, that’s principally what I was hoping would be answered. I’ve had the fortunate circumstance to drive every Lamborghini since the Diablo through to almost the current models but admittedly none of them in a manner they deserve and mostly just town and short runs but I’ve never even sat in a Countach 😢 it’s the one that alludes me and so far got away

Back in the mid eighties I bought a kuntash 5000 S from Beverly Hills motor car company it was the biggest piece of c*** I ever had in my life wife you couldn't see out of it the petals were so close together you would hit the brake and the gas pedal at the same time the car is horrific it's not worth a dollar I sold it after 2 weeks of having it.. In this place I bought a Mercedes AMGY the wide body which was the greatest car that I had in that era they were incredible lamborghini even today is pure c*** for the money you have to spend you get nothing in return you get no performance and they're even worse than they were in the eighties.. I now have still several dozen cars but the greatest car that I've ever owned is my Nissan GTR built to 1400 horsepower there is nothing on the road including these junk klamborghini's Ferrari's and any Porsche nothing touches the GTR best investment I ever made at a 3rd of the cost of these other junk shit cars....

I guess you forgot that this is a vehicle design from over 50 years ago. Try a Mercedes from 1971 or even a Datsun from the same era. You are forgetting that this was the best technology of the time. You're nothing but a fool to think any different and a bigger fool to not test drive the car before you bought it. I also doubt you'd even have the capacity to even check the oil on the car. I am glad for one thing though, that the Countach you sold is now with a deserving owner.

That's what Hyundai says "not every car can have a racing pedigree" 🙄. The Countach is an iconic, 'interesting' car... I was 16.5 years old in 1985 and it has always been the Ferrari BB512i for me. When it morphed into the states friendly Testarossa it put me to sleep (even with Miami Vice propping it up) 🥱.
