I'm restoring an 88 right now put the offenhauser intake on it with Holley street slayer carb. About to get it running. Mine has the front and rear Dana 60 axles on it brand new axles. I was trying to buy an abandoned house about 12 years ago when I go home from Iraq. Ironically the guy that bought the house became a friend of mine from being a fan of my other projects on You Tube. About 3 years he needed a roof on his house after a hail storm. This 1988 Ford turned up in the garage of the house less most of the body it was just new axles springs and all on a chassis with a rebuilt engine and transmission sitting in it all naked. Basically I got that with a cab 2 doors and seat. Right now I ripped the entire engine down and it does crank over. Now I fuel up to the carb. Horn beeps radio doesn't work. Folks are gonna wish they kept these trucks & fixed em. The new stuff is all made out of cardboard. I'm getting 2016s with holes in the frames and bodies all the 3 brands are made out of metal that dissolves in road salts...

Anyone that likes this video will love my restoration of my 1988 F150 named Holley Anne. The truck was in abandoned house for about 24 years after it appears a tree fell on it. Someone else tried putting it back together with new Dana 60 axles and all new suspension. Basically when I got her she was a really shabby can with holes in the floors shot cab mounts and the likes. That was all I got on the chassis a cab & 2 doors that were not in good shape. Over this summer she has gone from trash to having a brand new 4.9l with the Offenhauser intake set up and Holley Street Slayer 4bbl carb on the inline 6cyl. Right now in my spare time I am working on her new bed and the fuel system that will power her. The tree strike had obliterated the original bed we found the bed outside the house next to the garage where the truck had been kept inside for 24 years after the original owner committed suicide inside the house. The truck was too good to throw away yet it was so awful it warranted pulling it all back apart and doing sheet right. She looks awesome at present even has the rare factory slotted alum mag wheels on her.

the people I work for had the 300 in a F-350 with auto trans you could not kill that engine.

475,000 on my 85 Ford F-150. No major repairs, and the repairs it does need I can do it with ease instead of sending to a mechanic.

I have an 85 i6 I wanna dump.a few dollars into it. I'm wondering if the carb feedback can be disabled and still not go into safe mode.

@@kristopherhasenbuhler5393 I dont know about the Ford but I did away with one on a yota and it didn't hurt. I even took the charcoal canister. Plugged the line with a bolt.

@@kristopherhasenbuhler5393 I have removed all of the computer controled features from the carb and replaced the ignition with a vacuum advance ignition so that the computer is no longer part of the system at all. The only issue i have found is it is more cumbersome to keep running if its cold outside the first few minutes it runs.

Looks like he has one of them Silverado frame members in the cab with him. Doing my 2001 1500 same deal. They make a kit with them Chevy frame rails. That is my second project right now the reasons I am not at work making money. The road salts up here in the northeast kill anything with 4 rubber tires

Wow! You have a tough market up there. I'd have definitely offered you double that. A runner is a runner. Your buyer got a deal. Sometimes you get the upside. Sometimes you don't.

This would have had a feedback carb system and the reason it won't idle down is because the system has been removed. It has a T.P.S and idle air control valve to control idle. The whole vacuum system is missing.

Did you get the full asking price? Wondering because of mine. I put $2500 into it so it would run like factory, and I get currently 28 mpg highway, 22 in town, which is really good for these trucks.

at 3:35, what is the box below the radiator that looks like it has a place for two hoses? Also did you delete the EGR?

The box not sure. Probably for emissions. I did delete the egr. A part sticks way out I cut it off and tapped on hole and put a pipe plug in and the other had someone weld it do to it being aluminum

I paid 2500 for my 85 f150. Might have gotten a little ripped off, but it's in a lot better shape than this poor truck

Depending on condition. Ones like mine aren’t worth much, rust free ones are worth a lot more

It’s hard to say I normally don’t look at rust free ones lol then if they are most people put v8s in them then. In which case I seen $7000+ I personally don’t think they’re worth it but that’s me.

I need help trying to find out what is suppose to go in between the carburetor and intake. I can't find anything. Mine is an 84 F150 with the same engine and carter carburetor. I bought it and it never ran smooth. I can tell it was mostly due to bad maintenance. the carburetor was bolted straight to the manifold but it looks as if it needs a spacer with vaccuum holes. There is a hole the size of your finger on the intake that the carburetor gasket slightly overlaps. Something must be missing. Any thoughts?

Larry Wilson mine had a big piece coming out for the egr valve and I cut it off and had a friend weld it closed

If the egr plate is missing they do sell it for your truck on rockauto

I welded that hole shut and deleted the whole emissions system. You have to get and 82 carb distributor and coil. Runs 100% better.

With these motors it ain't about power. Sure you could push it. But there dead nuts reliable. Got decent power with towing. And get reasonable mileage as a Dailey. Got one with a Carter zf carb. Bulletproof

The out put relates to the variation, they made updates on the line on these in production . The most is 120 not much to today but sufficient for the application. Back when the were built you didn't see roadways more then a posted 60. That wasnt often at that. I enjoy these old trucks and have a few of dem. I go for the 6.9 and the 300.
