Same here, Did not know Barry at all but he sure had world class talent and the epitome of being a true gentleman on and off the track. RIP Mr. Sheene.

Absolutely the Baz & Daz show on channel 9 in Australia commentating the 500’s was brilliant , lots of them on KZfaq now as well on the trickymario channel.

I spent a little time with Barry at a party at the Goodwood revival meeting. They say don't meet your heroes but that is definitely wrong. Great bloke, great memory 😉 RIP BARRY SHEENE.

Schwantz getting a leg up by Sheene. Sheene seems so special as a man.kinda personI'd have loved to just like to shake his hand.i hope his is remembered in many years to come. American humility probably not a strong point, but class Barry shows how, even in retirement.. what a neat story .Roger great.interview. Perspective about sport (any) and competiting gives rrespet , real strength, humility- honoring parallel desiress, not.ones enemy. All win.

Sheene’s comment “he won’t do the sport any harm at all” was spot on 👌 What a great gesture by Barry, I love him even more now. Great footage, love all the classic liveries, Skoal Bandit being my favourite, so much so I had my 86 GSXR750 custom sprayed that scheme 😀

Watch "An evening with Kevin Schwantz" he explains why he didn't win, throttle cable issues meant he was effectively riding a 250, which is why as Sheene said, he was struggling out of the hairpin.

I don't think you are correct, he said that's why he didn't win the next day, Sunday, which was the money race. If he was only running on two cylinders he never would have keep up with the acceleration of the 500ccs in this race. (p.s. I just watched the 2013 interview), peace....

@@raynic1173 Barry Sheene @14:13 even says he doesn’t think that Kevin Schwartz’s bike is not running very well because he losing out on the acceleration after the hairpin. And in this interview kzfaq.info/get/bejne/pJeJp9yHsdq6l3k.html Schwantz says it happened during the last 4 laps and that Roger Burnett won, and he did win this race. Roger Marshall won the 1986 Race of the Year, so Schwantz was talking about this race, not the race of the year.

The talent of Kevin is at least double than the rest. Never seen the track, with a new bike, new in 2 st, old suzuki, so young... And the fastest from the way go

Schwantz is the best rider ever on a racetrack... he proved it many times. He was always racing with inferior equipment throughout his career

Swantz has always been my favourite. On sheer ability nobody would beat him. Would not say he was always on INFERIOR equipment.

Yeah his gsxr750 ama superbike was a piece of shit. His rgv500 was a pile of junk. Meanwhile mick doohan goes from 250 proddies to 500gp, destroys his leg in 92 then wins 5 in a row. But yeah schwantz was the greatest.

Some of those bikes and riders are so much slower than the leaders, that it is very dangerous and they don’t seem to try and get out of the way of the faster riders coming up from behind.

Encore sur 3 CYLINDRES honda, Gardner,comme Lawson ou Doohan, qui on réussi un coup sec et leur 3 CYLINDRES à voir le v 4 hrc sort pour l'année 1985 la 3 CYLINDRES et fini ❤️❤️❤️💫, 1984 honda monte les V4, donc année 1985, en essai moteur 🫠🫠🫠et tou le monde connaît la suite
