Awesome. I had an 85. You described it perfect. Was white with front wheel wells & screen cut for non existent back wheel wells. Prob one of my favorites ever. Skated vert with it & everyone said it was a "street board". I thought it was the closest shape to a Lance out there. My Dad threw it away while cleaning. Still pissed about that. RIP Pop. Love ya anyway.

Cool board. The first set of good wheels I bought back then were Vision Blurs like those. Also, I had a pair of blue Venture trucks that I got as a hand me down like those. Ventures look a lot different now. Way beefier. They were more minimal back then. Kind of remind me of Trackers from back then.

I have this on my Samsung watch face. I added digital Casio style numbers for the hour markers in neon green. I remember when everyone had eighther this deck, the Hosoi Hammerhead, the Caballero 2. Back in the bonite days. I learned to do Ollie handrails in 87. I could probably count on one finger the number of people who could do that trick and then like a year later after everyone who learned how to do it broke their forward ankle everyone was nailing that trick. Then skating just about died in 1992. But the Gonz board was probably the icon of the first 5 years of street.

Also, t-shirt of this board was everywhere. If you didn't have the deck you had the t shirt because everyone regarded Gonz as the legit master Samurai of street skating. Ironically most only knew him from magazine photos because he wasn't a fan of being recorded. In fact it wasn't until KZfaq some 20 years later that I actually saw most of the videos of Gonz skating in the 80s. Also everyone skated in Air Jordan 1s as left over dead stock. 😅

Would love to see the ones with the kicknose. I think some of the modern reissues (that say "The Original" instead of his name) are produced with a "modern concave" and some kind of kicknose? I have never seen one of those in person, either, but would be interested to compare these brand-new ones to the 88/89 versions. Amazing and cool that graphics used to last for so many years, unlike the throwaway shit of today.

Vision makes two different versions of some of their reissues one has the original concave and the other has a modern concave with a kick nose and sometimes a smaller wheelbase

His board was a huge seller in my part of Canada in 87. Now I'm wondering what year Gonz&Roses came out?

Hey man great videos and incredible collection. I have a favor to ask. Is there anyway you could take a still quality picture of the 1986 John Lucero white dipped Chicken printed White Schmidt Stix deck from the ad? I’m trying to figure out what color the eyes and the skin is around them. Either-or great videos thanks.

I wonder what the width of those trucks are? Back then I had no idea what size trucks I rode. I don't know if they had all the sizes like they do today.
