Jon, I love your video about your 3 day pack and all the good solid gear you show here! I looked up more of your videos - all great stuff, thank you very much for sharing all this! I honestly envy you a little. With you and of course up in Alaska there is still a lot of untouched area to bushcraft. Here in Germany a lot is already regulated, even to start a fire in open nature is covered with many regulations. Best, you have somewhere outside a piece of your own property... I am glad about all further videos of you! Thanks again!

I like this set up and if you want you can make an even lighter frame for the pack using schedule 80 1/2" pvc pipe that will withstand cold weather and be fairly flexible and strong and if you make it with a shelf you can reinforce it with paracord on the sides and corners to help hold you sleep system or tent or both if need be.

While you were taking things out of that pack, and they just keep coming out, I was thinking maybe you were gonna start pulling out stuff like a Remington 870, or a hockey stick, or something like that....😂 thought maybe it was one of those videos. I’ve packed in for a week or more many times myself. Do you filter your water or just boil? Nice pack and good load out. I’ll check out your other vids. Interested in your fire kit 🔥

Great review- this made my mind up about the pack (just placed the order)--thanks! So is the Tactical Tailor Malice Pack Frame a perfect fit to this pack, or does it require modification? I notice the Deep Woods pack description lists compatibility with an Alice LC2 frame.

Great video, some new ideas there, thanks for the upload! Just curious, I see lots of people carry a wooden bowl an spoon but also titanium cookware, I just carry titanium everything because its light weight, is the wooden stuff just for fun or am I missing something?
@TheBeardedBurton
@TheBeardedBurton 5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to watch! So I enjoy the titanium aspect because it heats up a lot quick for coffee and meal prep and cools down quick for handling. But drinking out of a wooden cup especially coffee adds to anything, things just taste better to me and it insulates fairly well. A hot liquid in a wooden cup or bowl being held in your hands can’t be beat! But it’s also just fun and nostalgic, I like the fact someone carved it by hand

Dragonfire is no longer, that business shut down as many small businesses do. That’s why I said contact TheHiddenWoodsmen, who made the pouch. Instead of complaining on my YT channel reach out to who can fix it. Or I can screen shot this and send it to HW since I am friends with him lol

Maybe I just missed it, but if that's your only fire kit, you couldn't pick a sillier place to carry it. A fire kit is often the very first thing you need, and having to dig for it can be a deadly mistake. You should always have a very good, all purpose fire kit on your belt or in a pocket, and your main fire kit should be right on top of the gear in your pack. Otherwise, it's just amateur hour. You have more crap in that bag than I have in my INCH bag, and you don't need at least half of it to stay out permanently, let alone three days.
@TheBeardedBurton
@TheBeardedBurton 5 жыл бұрын
Well thank you for watching. Thank god I have a bic lighter in my pocket and am properly dressed for my environment which happens to be Texas where I sometimes go for 5-6 months out of the year without a fire because it’s not ALWAYS needed. But since you are the expert I guess I’m going to be wrong no matter what. Also I’m curious to what your INCH’ing from, probably zombies or a EMP strike from aliens. Ask your doctor if you are suitable for a prescription of chill pills ok?

Hey man long time since I've commented since I was disabled I miss the woods so bad but I've got surgery coming here soon I might be back. the tube by tuf f possum how use full is it I'm wanting to get something to replace carrying a and may the ones I can afford are big and bulky plus I don't have the lack space anything out side might throw me off balanced plus I have to go ultra light .it sucks not being able to walk. My arthritis attacking my spine so I can't walk more than 3-5 at a time I've got surgery scheduled I got high hopes for this summer maybe get to canoe again to, might be going to the Pathfinder s gathering this hope your able to come maybe meet up.he cool And let me know how functional that tube is it it what I've been looking for I'd be happy as hell to have shown it to us thanks brother be Pops Bushcraft out....

I have lol! Thanks for the sub too. Frame of the pack is by Tactical Tailor and is tubular aluminum, even lighter than standard issue Alice frames. The whole sleep system is down with the hammock being the heaviest part. Pot and Skillet are both titanium as well as the canteen. The heaviest pieces are the tomahawk, my possible pouch and the med kit.
