NBC's baseball coverage in the 80s was fantastic, I really wish it could've been NBC and Costas and/or Scully for 1991

Sparky Anderson and Tom Kelly were great managers! Twins played great.

Most critics and experts were basically thinking, if the Twins are gonna win any game in this series, it was this one, particularly with Viola pitching. They were huge underdogs going into games 2 & 3. It is interesting that the Tigers didn’t start Morris in game 1. Maybe they wanted him to pitch both games in Minnesota, his home town, where he’s pitched so well. This series also contributed to Morris joining the Twins in 1991. Before this, he was having his way with the Twins. After this, the Twins were having their way with him.
