I loved this toy when I was a kid. The WORMs were always my commanding officers and right hands to Cobra Commander and Baroness.

I still have mine from my childhood. The radar dish did break. I glued it into place. The clips broke that hold the main gun. But I still love it! You knocked this review out of the park!

Great review as always! One of the great things about this plastic hobby is how you can create your own Joe-verse! How I solved the multi-vehicle roles has more of a modern take on artillery. The two cannon positions are for the gunner to fire the cannon and the team chief to receive firing coordinates from a HQs. The undervehicle to the cannon serves as unit of Maggots’ fire direction center, and the scout vehicle positions itself to defend the Cannon and firing HQs from ground threats with the forward cannon and counter-artillery fire using the radar and top mounted gun. Ahhhh, imagination slightly warped with reality lol!

I never had one myself, but I've always loved the Maggot - like most Cobra vehicles it could have benefited from better crew protection, but it's an awesome looking piece of hardware. It's a little reminiscent of German WWII era tank destroyers. The W.O.R.M.S. driver has a sort of sci fi-panzer driver look to him. Very satisfying vehicle - clearly could be useful as both long distance artillery as well as in the direct fire tank role.

Really great review Kevin! I loved the Maggot--both the toy and in the comics. IIRC, the long-range power--and limitations--of the Maggot cannon was a plot point in the Cobra Civil War and also comic issue #80. Ah, memories.

Argh!!! I saw an old rusty WORMS action figure last year at a small toy convention and did not buy it... shame on me...

Most of the design decisions regarding the toys are just odd - A swivel gun that can hit the driver right in the back of the head? I do like vehicles that can split apart, though - at least makes you feel like you got your money's worth... My brother had this in a black & red color scheme, growing up.

Is there a place to find reproduction weapons or parts ?
