This was my life in the mid 80s. I’m in five scenes in this video. Oh the memories of summer 1986 with Bonneville Productiona coming over to film ya for a whole week. Night show was filmed up till 2am after the regular night now. This for me is the best of times. This is Polynesia

This is LIFE! I GREW UP IN LAIE, my family has been there for generations and still to this day! My mom and her sisters are the voices you hear, my aunties and uncles and cousins are dancers, instructors, musicians, custodians... lol there’s no place like LAIE🤟🏽 thank you for this treasure... so many priceless faces on this video that are no longer with us and a lot of OG’s still holding it down!!! Mahalo for uploading this. It is important to know what kind of media was being used in earlier days that may have contributed to the tourist gaze of Polynesia. I am not saying that PCC is either bad or good in that sense, but this is a great educational reference so that our children and young people can see what the portrayals of their cultures were in the past.

Indeed they preserved their East African Cultural Roots . As I live in the motherland of humanity, Horn of Africa ,Somali Peninsula , I can understand even their word Bulo still in Somali cultural songs ! One human family
