In this episode we come across a super clear 1989 Acura Integra just in time. We had recently picked up a 1987 Honda Crx for a future project and the future seem much closer now thata we have a prefect swap for it. For that swap we cover all the things we will need to aquire, such as, the engine, transmission, axles, hubs, and ecu.

Always nice to see somebody giving the 1G CRXs some love! The whole Integra rear axle with the discs should be swappable onto that CRX, but remember to take the brake booster too (unless you have another one in mind) as I believe the stock CRX booster won't work with the rear discs.

Still currently own my 89 Integra RS, body parts are pretty rare to find now a days but for aftermarket parts I usually shop from cheddas auto & heeltoe auto great places for gen1tegs.

These cars are impossible to find in my area. In the early 90’s my bro had an 88 he bought new and I was driving an 87 with every single engine and suspension mod out of the Jackson racing catalog, as well as a body kit. The car could outrun prelude SRVs. I sold the car because it was too heavy, I also had a sohc VTEC crx that was a first in my area.

i've got a 1989 integra LS (automatic) as my daily driver. Bought new by my grandparents and handed down several times. Its' SOOOO nice to drive. And the power and speed is impressive.

I had 3 of these I daily drove and autocrossed an 87 for 10 yrs. The motor seemed bullet proof at my stock power level but the manual transmissions were glass. I blew grapefruit sized holes through 3 of them

Never understood why they call it a "bad word" pin. If you can do all the work to remove an engine that pin shouldn't give you any trouble. Quality content my man

I've never had a problem with it lol if I don't have the roll pin punch then use an ac bolt an it'll come out in one tap. I hate when ppl use a bolt in place of the b!t€h pin tho lol it soo sloppy

I replaced mine with the Dyno Designs Tightener when I was last doing transmission work! It tightens up the shifts quite a lot.

I did one of the first swaps in the states. Did it in 1987 on my 1984 CRX. And I still have it i with a full 9 piece Mugen body kit. I used wagon 4x4 spindles and knuckles. If you can find front wagon torsion bars......Absolute the best front suspension you can put on a first gen CRX.

The rear integra disk breaks will work on the CRX also. Back in the day there were no coil overs for a gen 1 so along with the wagon torsion bars for the front the rear wagon coils are a great upgrade cut about an inch off for ride height. Lastly you can run bigger accord breaks on those nuckels

The d16a1 has a different bellhousings bolt pattern than all other common d series but it does share the same bellhosing as a d15a style like out of the 84-87 civics and crx's

I have always wanted to get my hands on a DOHC ZC or D16A1 and swap it into an 89 or 91 CRX Si and boost it. I've never seen one boosted in person, so it's just something that I've always wanted to do. I am literally in the process of swapping a JDM J32A and six speed manual into my 2001 Accord sedan. It currently has a J30A1 with the 4 speed junk auto that's trashed, so besides the upgrade, this'll replace the trashed auto trans.

Nope 118hp tops. I have an 87 and an 88 with JDM Dohc ZC (PM7) cams with P29 pistons and decked head to 10.25:1 and 12lb flywheel spec stage 1 clutch. They are quick for what they have got into them. Respect that somebody else appreciates these cars and motors.

I had a jdm dohc zc an blew it up lol man I loved that motor I would pull my b20b out of my ef for one lol even tho I make more torque but it was bad ass having a dohc d series that was a direct swap wish I never sold it and just rebuilt it

I always thought "Si" stand for "Sequential" fuel "Injection" instead it being a dual port injection. The Honda dealers say it mean Sport Intergrated or Sport Injected.
