This 142 is perfect. Every overlanding upgrade I would want is there. This old video might be my favourite truck I've seen you do.

wow... when I saw "extreme custom" on the title of a fairly stock looking 62 I was about to scoff at it. This really is a nice machine though. would be proud to own one even half this nice.

@1972landcruiser One of the few backward steps from 60 series to 62 series. Those square headlights were worse than the round headlights they replace. At least the stock ones anyway. This is why both the 62 and 80 series in Australia always had bullbars (steel or alloy barwork like the ARB unit on this one) fitted to them they needed somewhere to bolt both the spotlights and the aerial for the CB radio. As well as keeping kangaroos, cattle and emus out of the grille

I´am a huge Land Cruiser´s fan. I currently own a 2000 FJ80 (I live in Venezuela and they where sold here until ´07). I really like they job that you guys did with this fj60, everything except for the engine. why wouldnt you keep the original 3F engine or, if you wanted to upgrade it; why not consider the 1FZ-F or 1FZ-FE that are undestructible engines and with an incredible power and torque???

Awesome truck. I think this one is the better LC body style compared to the 90's (fj80) version that was a tad too streamlined. I think somewhere along the line, or perhaps this was an unfortunate result of the direction Toyota wanted to go with the LC, it turned from a practical off-roader to a luxury fat-u-v with electronics up the wazzu. But I'm happy that now, 20 years after laying eyes on my first LC as a kid, I can finally afford to buy one, even if it's beat up and old as dirt haha.

Glad to read someone who thinks a bit like me😊 The 60 series has the best body style out of all Land Cruisers, then the 40 and 70 series. They all have that "squared" shape that makes the stand out! The 60 looks like nothing before or after it. The only car that looks like it is a non Toyota... The famous rival Nissan Patrol Y60. Hence the TLC60 and the Patrol Y60 are my favorite cars of all time. Go the 60 !

Mr Ward, I totally love your style,I'm currently restoring my FJ40,and I wanted to use some of your custom parts from the Icon fj40 unfortunately it seems to be impossible to get them it's a shame. Maybe that could be a good marketing strategy give a certain level of Icon touch or have a similar product. I agree with a lot of people here, we need Diesel options,but not the international 2.8 T something with more mojo ? Last year I went to see your shop impressive. Best thing,made in California

My perfect version of this would be a 62 on 80 series chassis but with a 60 front end. 62 because you get extra electric options 80 series chassis because of the better frame and suspension and 60 series front end because I like that front styling better than the 62. Have you done one?

I know this is an oldy (vid) but gotta say Jonathan your an artist sir. I would really like to speak to you about items for 80, 100, 60 series I make. I'm a avid Toyota enthusiast and I craft bumpers, roof racks and other small items. I'm an up start business and I'm looking to be involved with only the very best aftermarket installers and businesses. May I call your offices and speak with someone about shipping an example of my work? Please if you would respond I would be very grateful to you. Thank you, Jason

I know official tow ratings don't change - but being on a a strong frame with better suspension and have a Vortec v8 in there this thing can obviously tow far more than the original measly 3,500 lbs it was rated for on the leaf springs and v6. How much can this realistically tow? 5k? 7.5K?
@nicovmods

our european 1hd-ft 80 is rated for 6500 kgs train weight, so that's vehicule + trailer; vehicule is rated at 3000 kgs max trailer weight is 3500 kgs and it tows that just fine
