Yamaha CR250 two stroke! Only made one ever! Very rare!

Nice bike! 1988 was the 1st year for the lowboy pipe and body work on the 250. 88 linkage bolts bent. The USD forks were 45 mm and horrendous. Thanks for the cool videos!

I got one up in canada with inverted forks with a .68 bore . Very nice peice to keep around for history. Real monsters and solid motors.

The 89 motor was so strong! Kicked like a mule and pulled forever! Note the powerband at 7:55

I had 1 in high school in 96-98 and it was fkn insane. powerband for days and hondas best year even tho it only had 5 gears.

Awesome bike👍👍👍I had the 1988 CR125R and it was the darker Blood Red. I unfortunately broke my hip on that bike at Red Bud. I couldn’t quite make Lacroccos Leap and that was it for me. I never raced motocross again😢😢😢

Yep that was my bike too. That was the first year the Japanese lines broke the $4,000 mark and that was big news in the dirt mags. Bought it new in 1990. They had made so many 89 bikes that they couldn't sell them all, so they dropped the price a TON. The 90 was 4 grand, I got my 89 NEW for $2899!. Man, I was so stoked!

I thought I was a good rider and I'm 55 but ken you are darn good and I know you were a pro. Been to the hosiptal a few times in my advancing age and one particular time I showed up at the hospital with 3 knee's Doctor came in expecting to see an 18 year old who crashed on his bike and had 2 left knees. Nope just a dumb 50 something trying to rail a berm. God Bless your family Ken.

Had an 89',loved the engine and chasis, the forks were not that great. But BEAUTIFUL bike!!

First year of the mid pipe and I was getting ticked because all the cool stuff drove the price up. I bought a 1985 new for $1895+ then think the 89's jumped to over $3k it was like WTF? Then they went over $5k.

This video starts with a wrong assumption : Honda worked in 3-year development cycles, and the 89 (the 250 at least, 125s and 500s were always a year late in updates or so) was a complete redesign over the 88. It culminated in the 91, with which JMB won it all and did what no yank ever manage to do -and never will equal. The 92 was like the 89 : a fresh start. This completely new geometry and lack of time to test and tune it (due to a wrist injury, and his goals already focused on a new challenge) was why he didn't keep his 3 titles.
