It's one of my favourite sounds from my childhood. I used to sit on in my grandparents basement and watch this machine run for hours.

The belt drives sounded much better but the drain on these is cool sounding.

@@patcola7335 Yeah, they sounded better, but the DD motors have a distinctive, unmistakable sound. Most people wouldn't need to see what type of machine you were washing clothes in, if they heard that sound, because no other washer on earth sounds like a Kenmore/Whirlpool DD washer... very unique sound.

@@jamesorsby7553 True. The belt drives also had that distinct "woo woo" sound that was unmistakeably Whirlpool/Kenmore.

This is back when they made decent quality machines that didn't fill up with very little water. And you don't have to have this sensing BS.

I inherited the pair from my grandparents. Build solid and easy to repair and maintain. Lots of good memories from childhood involving this washer. Thanks for stopping by!

That's a real good washer but for me I like the the belt drive the best I know they're harder to work on but still I like them the best and I like the other agitators better than the m o that one you've got on this washer can't remember the name of it but I just like the other ones better but that's still good washer you have lot better than what they have today

I enjoy belt drives too. Though there is something nostalgic for me hearing a Kenmore Direct Drive Kick into Spin.

Only people who don't wash correctly with these have problems it seems. I have owned 3 of these and have yet to see anything get torn or shredded.

Tragic that Kenmore/Whirlpool discontinued manufacturing the old BELT-DRIVE washers! Those machines were built like a SHERMAN-TANK!!

Interesting that Sears Canada used the term Eurotech on a machine that was made in the USA by Whirlpool.

How does it form that way? I use liquid detergent but it doesn't get that way

With older machines that have faster agitation and use more water like mine the detergent gets better dissolved than with a modern washer. Which produces more suds. I have used liquid in my older machines as get the same result. Powder or liquid for me doesn’t make much of a difference. Hope this helps!
