Jim Everett and the 10-5 Rams are hoping to clinch a Wild Card berth in the final week of the season, as they pay a visit to Foxboro Stadium to face Steve Grogan and the 5-10 Pats.

Agreed. The current players wear air tight jerseys with tiny shoulder pads and armpit exposure. Not a good look regardless of the jersey design.

The Rams had a great run that year on the east coast.. They beat NE to get into the playoffs, then beat the eagles in Philadelphia and the Giants in NJ the following two weeks in the postseason.

After this one the Rams were trying to become the 1st NFC team to go to the Super Bowl while playing 3 playoff games on the road. Several years earlier the Patroits were the 1st AFC team to do it. The Rams luck would run out at San Francisco in the NFC Championship Game losing 30-3

The previous matchup between the Pats and Rams late in the '86 season had an even more dramatic ending and both teams were very good. On the final play Tony Eason threw a 26 yd TD that was tipped by Stanley Morgan to Irving Fryar for the win.

Probably the most shocking revelation here is that CBS' Christmas Day NBA offering was Cleveland at Atlanta. They were both solid teams but one game on Christmas without the Lakers, Boston, the Knicks, Philadelphia, Detroit or Chicago?

Rams fans always seem to knock Jim Everett, but I thought he was a pretty good QB. If Everett had been around in the 1970s, the Rams might have actually won the Super Bowl. Good game! Great finish! Thanks for posting!

Your words have wisdom, sir. Everett was a pretty good or better QB (really good in '88, '89) throughout the bulk of his career with the Rams. Unfortunately, come 1990, the Rams were no longer a good team - dropping off defensively and in the run game. I was on pins and needles at the end of this one.
@astrostar494 жыл бұрын
@@cbod14 He had a couple of decent years in New Orleans. Especially 1995. The entire team wasn't that good though.

I tend to agree... Jim was actually better than people may remember. The truth was the Rams Greg Bell had only played 6 games the next season. And they were not has good as a team after that 89-90 season. 5-11 and 6-10 were common won lost records for the Rams until they left to St Louis.

The Rams won the Patriots at New England during reg season they got lucky this country suffered an unmeasurable attack on 9/11 in my humble opinion that turned the support against the gsot us. We made a great comeback yet lost by a field goal. Ps I there should be a rule change, just like over time.

@@rkid727 no way, the 49ers were rolling through the league that year going 14-2 They just crushed everyone in the playoffs that year and other than hat one pass that Ronnie Lott broke up in the championship game, the Rams had no chance. @@shawngreene1225 you can have the opinion that gravity doesn't exist , but try jumping out of a 5 story building and see what happens. my point here, is people value their opinions more than reality. the fact is, the average player in todays game is bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic and more skilled. on top of that, schematically , coaching & scouting is more advanced. every metric is superior in the time we're living in. you probably will still disagree with me, but just giving you food for thought. peace
