If it was in September, it was the closest to Labor Day weekend. My son was born on Labor Day in'85 so in 90 we started going to Darlington as often as we could, for the Sept. Race, we went to 9, out of 13 yrs. We witnessed some great races there, Gordon being second to win the Winston million, One of Gants 6 in a row Busch grand national wins and 4 in a row Winston cup wins. Earnhardt winning, Bill Elliott driving for junior Johnson, smoking a cigarette with the late great Dick Trickle before a race. Meeting Earnhardt and him giving my son the hat off of his head in victory circle celebration (yea I still got it) getting a picture with Chocolate Myers, Earnhardt blacking out and being relieved by Mike Dillon, watching someone give Junior Johnson a 100 $ bill to autograph, (do you think he's still got that 100$ ?🤔,, Probably not, probably had to spend it on ⛽gas 😥. ) 🤔But yea, some good times inside the infield of Darlington Raceway. Seems like I had the most fun between the Busch and cup races,🔥🤠 Saturday night. 🍻🥳🍺🫕🥃🎊🎸🍸🕺🍷😵‍💫🍾🤢🤮💤😩🌄☀️🕚⏳🌞🥴🚿💊🍹😎🥃🍻🍻🍻🍻📢🕛🟢🟢🟢👀👅👏😁😶🏳️👆🏁..
