Definitely a sharp truck of the 90's. I too wish days gone by , weren't by yet. Good rates, cool trucks, less regulation.

We had 12 to 20 CH's at any given time in the 90's. For coal hauling and aggregates they did a great job for us. My cousin is still running his 94 which looked exactly like the blue one in the video with over 3 million miles on the original rails and original block. The CH's will always hold a place in my heart.

We had a 99 CL713 float tractor, E7 460, Mack 18. Great truck , I love these trucks , always liked how the doors shut , and the air ride cab worked great. Always a little air hiss when u got out 😎

Don’t forget the parking brakes being applied too! Awesome sounding jakes too. The doors always shut nice too.

was never a big mack lover.but the ch series was a nice improvement over the r model in driver comfort & visability.especially for a tall driver, could never understand why those old trucks had cabs with interior room comparable to an old vw beetle.hated driving KW w900 for that reason.damn near had to step out on the tank just to fart.

I can believe it all these years I've been cursing my Mack CH for no cab room! I should consider myself lucky I'm not in a R model 😂

I do not like one piece windshields. One side breaks then the whole windshield goes. One thing I like about a truck is a truck that makes it easy for me to customize and I like that cab chassis too great idea
@juliogonzo2718 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I watched a video on the ford aeromax yesterday from when it was new and they were going on that drivers told them they liked a one piece windshield better for visibility. I have driven both one piece and two piece windshield trucks and never once has the center bit prevented me from seeing something or aggravated me in any way.

I drive a Mack CH613 daycab for work it has the updated dash after the one shown here. It is very cheap and plasticy it vibrates and rattles. I'm only 6 ft and I do not have enough legroom, the AC controls cut into my right leg. With the seat back all the way I have to lift my leg extremely high to hit the clutch. I honestly see nothing great or game changing about this truck I would way rather drive an FLD with a regular truck dash over this hunk of plastic anyday. Also to add the Rocker switches they brag about are all broken and the i.d. images are all literally punched out.

What’s a 359
@Roger-fs5yo6 ай бұрын
@stevel1451 it's a long nosed Pete that was made from the late 60's all the way to 1987. It had a corvette dash and was a favorite among owner operators at the time. The 379 replaced it, but could never really achieve the legendary status the 359 did💁♂️
@stevel14516 ай бұрын
Thanks Roger. I’m in Australia and Pete’s are rare here. I have run only Mack’s since early seventies and still run 3 with my two boys. We replaced our late computer Mack’s with rebuilt R models and love them.

If you're over 6 ft tall the day cab is the most uncomfortable truck you will ever drive
@juliogonzo2718 Жыл бұрын
I'm 6'2" and there is enough stuff not made for me. I can't imagine being a 7' bastard. It must suck. Some times I move equipment and skidsteers are definately made for little people with little feet
@tommyw.9424 Жыл бұрын
Better than the R model, where it was the same thing but if you were over 5'6 or so
@m16ty Жыл бұрын
You've never drove a R model or 379 Pete then. IMO the R is a better truck, but the CH is a lot more comfortable for tall drivers.

Does anyone know what the soundtrack is called at the beginning of the video? It's also used in a home video compilation documentary of tornadoes called Twister: Fury on the plains.

The B and R Models were the absolute best looking Trucks Mack ever made, and they were also the Toughest Trucks Mack ever made. Today's Wannabe Macks, or MINO's don't hold a Candle to the B and R Models. MINO stands for MACK IN NAME ONLY.

There is a mack granite at my work. I don't drive it too often but it's nothing to write home about. Rough riding thing. Not really the trucks fault for that it has a stupid heavy front end because it used to be a highway plow. It's got a lugger body on it now
