the 3rd gen camry with the 3vz v6 engine has a crankshaft that's good for 300 kW/400 BHP...people have pushed it to 600 BHP apparently. It's such an overbuilt engine for a grocery getting car.

A hot-rodded Camry... That just makes me smile. Very nicely done! It would be awesome to hang out in the owner's garage with him, I can just imagine the kinds of Frankenstein projects that must be taking place in there.

There are a ton of manufacturers who have BBS made for their OEM applications. It's probably why they don't seem to care too much about selling aftermarket wheels. They have Race and OEM on lock.

Owner seems like a super legit guy. Great job on the homebrew build and being willing to do your own mods. The overall look of the car with the windshield banner is very reminiscent of the early 90's btcc toyotas, which is a good thing.

Sweet setup! the 3S-GTE is a great engine for that platform. Back then, the Celica and Camry used the same powerplant, the 3S-FE. as of 1991, the MR2 started using the updated version. However, the 1988 Celica All-Trac (aka GT-4) used the 3S-GTE before the MR2. Toyota made the Celica for two generations with it. there was even a Camry All-Trac offered on the Gen 2 Camrys. 3S-GTEs are actually quite common. What makes this one uncommon is it wasn't offered outside of japan as the 4th Gen version. Earlier models were 200-220 hp; This one is 260 hp. Torque steer comes as no surprise being that this engine was designed to be used in an all wheel drive vehicle. Still, he did it right.

Funny thing is I have a 1990 Toyota Camry with 56,000 original miles on a 2.slow. So far I only have a cat delete and a 10 inch glass pack on it but I am building it out like a rally car. When looking for suspension mods and turbos you have to search for Celicas around the same year. They use the same engine and general suspension, and some of them came with turbos. I love my little daily driver. It cruises at 85 mph with the AC on and gets 380 miles to the tank. I call it the Toyota-tronic X-wing Dream Machine. #BeckBuilt. Definitely enjoying this guys build. I love to see other people's takes on the same car. Keep up the vids homie! #JDMRedneck

Can confirm there is almost nothing for these cars. My first car in 1996 was an 89 Camry passed down to me, and it was the 3S-FE 2.0L with manual gearbox. I had to hack almost everything. Couldn't even get damn clear corner lenses for it lol. I put Intrax springs and KYB struts on it, but that was about the only thing actually made for the car. I sold it with 154K miles. The gearbox was total crap, had been replaced twice. By comparison my Integra GSR has 361,000 miles on the original engine and gearbox.

Don't use hairspray go on the bottom side of the blow off valve take another hose clamp and run it from coupler to coupler on the bottom half of the T4 the blow off valve after you secure the clamps as you have them tighten down the bottom hose clamp connecting all three together the hidden hose clamp on the bottom will hold the two couplers on to the T. Hairspray will not hold up to 17 PSI on a smaller amount of boost that's a solution and it works but when you exceed 10 psi you have to get creative! Tightening down both hose clamps onto the tee and then using the third hose clamp connecting the two clamps on the T will ensure that it will not pop up a part again
