This is a slideshow of me doing a repair on my 1990 Volvo 240 driver's seat.
I've bought a passenger seat of a wrecked 240 with good foam.
The foam was swapped and reinforced.
I have followed this link to help me:

@FrenchAmer39 Not sure what size of springs but I have added extra springs from the donor seat for extra support. The flipped grid was done not on purpose. Just add some wiring to get the load off of the grid. I did not add extra foam to the cushion. But that is possible. Overall there is no particular how to do this repair. Just reinforce add stuff for the seat to give you more life out of it.

I reskinned my passenger side seat after watching this video. You can find nice OEM skins on Ebay! Looks brand new now! :)

This repair is a mangled mess of dangerous sharp screws and unsafe metal bits. Just buy the seat repair kit from IPD and do it the safe way. It’s cheap and correct. Volvo doesn’t use sharp screws like he did here because of how dangerous they would be in the event of an accident.

I'm doing the same thing with some donor passenger seat foam bottoms into a leather driver seat right now and came across this video. Thanks for posting. Did you re-use the metal rings (hog rings) or replace with zip ties?

Ok I got the lumbar suppor knob off, but I can't figure out how to get the giant backrest knob off!!

I think you just unscrew it counter clockwise. I will try once I get home tonight.

How will the reinforced springs and wires in the cushion affect the seat warmer? wont it burn up?

seat warmer isn’t connected. the donor seat is incompatible

how did you tke apart the seat i have mine out but i dont know how to take off the adjustment knobs if you could tell me i would greatly appreciate it

Thomas Fike Just use a screwdriver to pop the center cap off on the lower adjuster and the upper lumbar adjuster just unscrews off the seat and then the trim comes right off underneath it. Hope this helps!
