I lived for this show as a kid. It was the highlight of my Sunday. I look back at these shows and I couldn’t help but notice there was no political agenda. It was straight up football! Chris Berman, Tom Jackson, Robin Roberts, and the rest of the crew were fantastic.

What I personally remember this week was watching the NFL game via the TV's above the lanes at the bowling alley (I was in a bowling league that season; we didn't finish 1st). I lived in Western New York, but since the Bills played the Raiders in the late game, the Broncos/Browns game aired (Elway played very well there) while my team bowled.

I liked when pro football used to carry the NFC team games on CBS and that NBC used to carry the AFC team games.

And Summerall and Madden called Giants games. Better than Buck and Aikman and Dallas.

Remember when you stunk Robin Roberts did your games. Let's just say for the first part of the 90's Robin did a lot of Patriots games

Small crowd for Patriots game, for sure, but sometimes crowd capacity is dependent on on the quality of the visiting team, and the 1991 Colts were about as much fun to watch as a stuffed animal sitting in a chair, although this game here was one of their more lively efforts (vs. Lions, Jets, and Bears were the others; I don't think I'm missing many more than that).
@gluserty3 жыл бұрын
@Brandi Lord Ha ha, you're right there, and they certainly weren't the '85 Patriots either:-). Although I feel the '91 Pats were pretty entertaining most of the time, while the Colts did business that year in a rather drab fashion.

Pats weren't drawing at all in the early 90s/ I went to a few games and the place was empty. It didn't help that the Pats were 9-39 from 1990-92, and Foxboro stadium was the worst stadium in the league. They came close to being moved, first to St. Louis and then to Hartford..
@gluserty3 жыл бұрын
@@stevep8445 Yeah, if I recall correctly James Orthwein toyed with the St. Louis idea and there was a lot of talk in 1999 about the Hartford move. My mother and i almost went to a Pats game back in that '90-92 era, but once she read up on the directions to get to Foxboro Stadium, she quickly dropped that idea (so not only was the stadium unappealing on its own, it is a mess to get and out of:-).

Scott Norwood & Mike Cofer, thru circumstance, ended up on the same clip here. Both had tough seasons, but Norwood's missed kicks didn't make any difference in the Bills season, while Cofer's did.

331:4 Jerry Ball spang knee? Nooooo I Don't Think So Torn ACL more like it That Injury caused Jerry Ball the HOF I feel he was the best Nose Takle in the game at that time he was 325 and could do the 50yard Dash at 4.5 I believe He came back but was never the same the Lions let him go after the 92 season cause they didn't feel he was all pro caliber.
