All the goals scored by UC Sampdoria, runner-up of the 1991/92 European Cup. Sampdoria reached the final overcoming Rosenborg, Budapest Honvéd, Red Star Belgrade, Anderlecht and Panathinaikos, losing the final to Barcelona. That team was coached by Vujadin Boškov. Gianluca Vialli was the team topscorer, with 6 goals.

This was when UEFA was more balanced in terms of salary cup and more clubs had opportunities to reach far. Nowdays, with the help of marketing, Real Madrid and Barcelona, juventus has lots of wealth to take all the stars.

That was uefa champions league first test year... Not European cup... European cup means uefa cup! But still, cool you find those vids. I was supporter of panathinaikos and sampdoria when I was younger...

Wrong. European Champions Cup was the name, abbreviated European Cup, you are right tho with that was the first test year with Groups and more teams, but the name was still European Cup. It changed in season 1992-1993 to Champions League. 1991-92 was the tournament's last edition before it was re-branded as the UEFA Champions League.

@@ScarlettSpitfyre it's the fricking same competition (it just had 2 groups only, just to test out the new form of competition)... I would like to see the champions league again with a group stage on the last 16...

@@Ellinon_Vasileus No, this was not the first year of the Champions League. That was the year after this. This was the last year of the European Cup (NOT the same thing as the UEFA Cup).

Correct !!! This was the first Champions League Saison !!! I remember the Interview with Kalli Feldkamp Coach from Kaiserslautern He was sad, because they lost against Barcelona in the last Minute ! He wanted desperatly come in to the Group Stage, because the Opportunity to reach the finals !
