I was there that day and it didn't feel like 62 degrees. I was freezing sitting up in the Junior Johnson grandstands in turn 3. I drove down for the race from college up at Appalachian State University.

This probably my favorite race from NW cause it was pretty unpredictable with all the yellows and different leaders. Dale, Jimmy Spencer, Brett Bodine,etc

Still 10yrs before FOX dumped truck loads of 💰💰💰 in Bill Jr's front yard & immediately started screw'n the sport up, just as they've done to the other major sports in 🇺🇲 I love watching the Stockcar races from before that happened, it's true racing, no stage's, no giving lap's back, no lap down car's forced to start behind the leader's & most of all, grown-ass MEN racing with real personalities. I know I sound like the "old guy", but damnit racing was better back then! 🤷🏻‍♂️ Was happy for Ol' DW, he wasn't my driver, but once he started his own team, like so many fan's I started to cheer for him, instead of booing him like we all did for years! 😉👍

My uncle was at that race. End of the turn 1 grandstands. The slight gusts of wind that day made it feel colder than 62 degrees. But it was a day of good racing from what he told me years ago. A day before my first birthday.
