The race you are about to see appear as originally broadcast and may contain imagery that is offensive and doesn't align with NASCAR's values. NASCAR has since permanently banned the display of the confederate flag at all events.

Are you kidding me? That Apache flyover and pacing the track is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen

This is marvelous seeing this upload, as I didn't have cable TV back in 1992, so this race video was new to me. I was aware of Alan winning the championship prior to this video, but hadn't seen video of the track action and the spoken words afterwards.

One of the last times you would see 2 Greats that was taken way to Early in Allison and Kulwicki RIP to both of them truly missed

This race is the best thing, and worst thing that ever happened to NASCAR. They spent the next decade or so trying to reproduce this race until we ended up with the garbage racing we get today.

Crazy to think Davey Allison died just the following year landing a helicopter at the infield of a different race

I was 12 years oldd and glued to the TV that day. It was an incredible day. Even though I was a bit disappointed due to DW wrecking as I was a 17 fan

Just think if Alan Kulwicki hadn’t gotten the Hooters sponsorship this might not have happened. If i remember right he did try to sign with Maxwell house for the 1991 season but after Junior Johnson failed to get Alan to drive the 11 car for him ( Alan wanted to go his own way which is understandable.) He swooped in took the Maxwell house sponsorship from Alan and put it on the 22 car for Sterling Marlin and left Alan without a sponsor for 1991. If that is the case yeah kind of a dick move on Junior Johnson’s part.

such a shame he died just a few months later, Alan had a lot left more to give to NASCAR

Think the AH-64s won the race. A Hellfire, a Hydra, maybe the chain gun…Poll position.

I wondered if Earnhardt might've caused the wreck at the beginning of the race. But the replay shows literally plenty of daylight between Earnhardt's bumper and Bodine.

Looked like earnhardt ran into bodine. Wouldnt be suprised earnhardt crashed into everyone.
@fishrocker955 ай бұрын
it looks like unnecessarily tight racing for how early in the race it was but from what i’ve heard is that dale couldn’t stand bodine at all so it doesn’t surprise me he’d give him a tap
