Yes, it's a non interference engine. I was reading the official workshop manual just the other day regarding engine maintenance. I'd recommend a new coil and "ignition module" which sits right alongside the coil. They both get tired with age. The KZfaq channel "Hoovie's Garage" had one of these - same year and interior as yours, but cherry red metallic on the outside. He sold it for a profit!
