1993 Network Q RAC Rally, in-car with Kankkunen and Grist - SS20 Grizedale East (7.20km)

3 жыл бұрынAction from the 20th stage of the final round of the 1993 World Rally Championship. In-car footage from the Group A Toyota Celica Turbo 4WD of Juha Kankkunen and Nicky Grist, who would go on to win the event. Their car suffers from a left-front puncture early in this short stage.

Grizedale has some of the best very very long bends in the world! A pleasure to watch (And appreciate how far pace notes have come 😂)

Thanks for the upload. This stage will always stick in my mind as I was 13 year old, marshalling with my Dad. We managed to see Colin and Juha at Lancaster briefly, before driving into Grizedale late at night. Think we had to be in the stage by 11pm if I can recall, as the first car was 7am ish. This meant sleeping in the back of a Montego Estate in -8 deg! I've never felt so cold in my life!

Great stage, I used to do the Grizedale Stages, such a different forest to most others especially the Welsh ones.
