Last bus I drove before retiring. My absolute favorite of all of them I drove. Mine was a 1994 with an air ride driver seat. Everyone fought for this bus after i left. It was everyone's favorite.

Thank you for doing a ride along in this bus I really love it so much I use to ride a 1994 international ward 3800 with the dt360 sounds just like it in the turbo spooling i use to ride it in elementary 2010 it was a shorty I miss hearing that turbo so much it’s bringing me back memories that diesel smell bro 🥰👍🏻

@@superbrownsheep3777 Just like they got rid of gas cans that can fill your lawn mower without spilling, battery chargers that will actually charge a battery, and cars you repair with a wrench.

We used to have them amtran ward 3800 Kentucky in South carolina and now they retired in 2021. They were 1995

Its pretty rare for a early 90s 3800 to have the bigger DT466. Most of the 3800s came with the 7.3 IDI or the DT/DTA 360

If it had an IDI, it was designated as a 3700 which are astronomically rare to encounter, especially since they only had 4 production model years and was phased out when the T444E was introduced as the standard engine for the 3800 in late 1994.

@@newfoundrooski God I cant even imagine how slow one of these things would be with an IDI. I thought the early DT466 ones were already underpowered

They also came with a dt408 and I drove a 88 s1700 blue bird with the idi 7.3 and you barely could get 40 out of it 45 downhill empty pedal through the firewall at top speed wide open on the governor those idis would scream makes you deaf inside you can hear them From miles away and that's no joke

@@Alex-ji4ro our local fire department got called every other time our 1986 Thomas 77 passenger s1700 or s1800 church bus (appropriately sarcastically named the "blue bullet") would get started in winter. It smoked so bad. Eventually the fire department just called the office to see if the bus had been started. It broke down once a year with passengers. It got used 10 times a year. 🤣 God i miss that snorty rolling clatter idle though. As a kid at the time, (circa 2002-2008) i fell in love with it. I have aspergers, and one of my favorite benefits to asd for me, is that i remember model numbers and years of stuff like that. It finally got donated back to the family that donated it to the church for parts on the farm, due to the frame being no longer able to pass MNdot inspection.
