A POV (point of view) drive in my 1994 Reliant Rialto SE 850cc round some twisty roads without rolling over!

I’ve traveled many times as child in a 3 wheeler, never driven one though, with the current climate of excessive prices for fuel including electricity, cars like this will be a viable option, these cars in their day were affordable and low cost family transport, my late grandad and late Dad loved these cars.

You're just as lucky as my son to ride in a 3 wheeler as a child:) the first Reliant Robin was actually made during a fuel crisis, so given that and your points, it's indeed a viable option:)

must be a weird feeling going into corners for the first time with this :)
@John-ci2sd Жыл бұрын
It does feel quite odd at first because although it corners like a 4 wheeler and grips well, you can feel that it has 3 wheels when going over pot holes and speedbumps. It's almost as if the car suddenly gains a fourth wheel when you turn. But it's very fun:)

Imagine Mr.Bean's Car approaching from behind when going at 80 kilometer/hour with this thing. 💀

I would step on it lol. The Reliant was always a quick accelerating car. By 1970s standards for eco cars of course.

They may laugh at your car until you tell the MPG you get in it.

Question from a future reliant robin owner here, is it true they don't have a reverse gear?
@John-ci2sd Жыл бұрын
It is completely untrue. Every Reliant from the 1950s onwards had a reverse gear.
@John-ci2sd Жыл бұрын
Also if you can join the Reliant owners club first and try to look in depth mechanically wise. You will need to do work on it eventually. It's a simple car though.

Can a 6 foot tall person drive these. A mini is too small
@John-ci2sd6 күн бұрын
I'm 180 cm and I have plenty of room, up to 190cm you will be ok maybe even a taller person.

these robins were really unstable , the BBC tested one and it turned over if you steered it to much :-(

Not one stunt performed in Top Gear could be done by a stock Robin. The cars in the episode were modified.

why the annoying music? who else was here for all the little whirs and chunders these old cars make????

My dad editted this video. I told him it was a bad idea and he still uploaded it. I editted the full version myself to prove him wrong. I agree with you.
