Cigar's record was 5 wins in 16 races with one graded stakes win. Holy Bull was 4, a grade 1 winner at 2. The Bull did not finish two races at Gulfstream, the Fountain of Youth, when his palate flipped, and the Donn, when he broke down. The Derby was the only race he lost that he finished. There seems to be fairly common knowledge that there was some hanky panky with this Derby. Jimmy Croll told them what they could do with their Triple Crown. He claimed he had the best horse in training, and proved it with Eclipse Awards for Best 3YO, and Horse of the year. The Bull sired a Kentucky Derby winner. Seems that Cigar had E D. I think people who take a disagreement so personally to the point of insulting someone so rudely (from behind a monitor of course) shouldn't be attempting to diagnose anyone online. Cigar won sixteen races in a row, the first of which included Holy Bull in the entries. That speaks for itself to most of the racing world. Cigar "won two of nine races" and two of six at four on the TURF, before he was moved back to the DIRT. Anyway I don't argue for more than two postings so have fun with your foul mouth.

The Bull was 1994 Horse of the Year at three. He won 13 of 16 races, 2 he did not finish, 6 Grade 1, 2 Grade 2, 2 ungraded stakes, an allowance, and a Maiden. Cigar did not race at two, won 2 races out of 9 as a 3yo. When he was a 4yo, Bill Mott became the trainer. Cigar won 1 of 5 allowance races and his first stakes and Grade 1 race after 15 starts. Both of Cigar's wins came after Holy Bull won the Woodward and had wrapped up Horse of the Year honors. Cigar started his win streak with these two wins at the end of 1994 when Mott put Jerry Bailey on his back, took Cigar off the turf and put him on dirt. I was at Gulfstream for both horse's first two races of the 1995 campaign. I have bet on horses that were not the horse I was betting on on several occasions. The first time I saw Cigar in 1995, he was on the slender side. When I saw him before the Donn, I didn't think he was the same horse. Like, he became Arnold in three weeks. I know horses start to fully mature at five, but in three weeks? It didn't matter, Holy Bull broke down, supposedly. He did not want to go into the horse ambulance. Cigar went on to his fourth consecutive win, the rest should be easy with the Bull now retired. You see, Alan Paulson had been very good to the American Government and to the horse racing industry, and he had the Cigar. If you ever been to a track, you know what I mean. But, he was dying from cancer. The consensus from the ones that knew, claimed Mott managed the easiest win streak in history. Cigar won several allowance and non graded stakes races. He faced very few legitimate Grade 1 winners, and the ones he did, were on their way out. When he started running against Grade 1 winners, he lost, and was retired. Paulson passed a few years later. Holy Bull's competition was much stiffer. Cigar doesn't hold a candle to him. Holy Bull sired a Kentucky Derby winner. Seems that Cigar had E D. Holy Bull was one of kind, with folklore as big as Stronach’s statue rising above Gulfstream Park. Holy Bull memorabilia is still available on eBay.
