Is your Cavalier dash cracked and messed up? Dashskin makes an excellent product that EASILY installs and covers the damage making it look like new again.
This install is on my 2004 Base 2 door Cavalier that I use to commute 50 miles a day for my job. The interior color selected is graphite. Install took less than 20 minutes and the results are astounding.

I found you can get the same results with fabric fo leather from Walmart and spray adhesive. good video inspired my plans for my car

Bear in mind that the defroster grate needs to come out to remove the padded dash portion. The padded dash portion needs to come out to remove the radio, cluster, a/c controls etc. To be fair many of these get so damaged over a couple of decades that it isn't necessary to follow this order, but bear in mind.

My 2004 Chevrolet cavalier has same problem I got new pice but the old one is missing some of it can I still use tape to cover hole and still get new dash skin to stick

I bought a front re-lace men’s t part but there are no hole to put bolts in to secure new front? What todo I do? As the old is in pieces🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

If to put a big towel on the panel, the Dashskin the weights won't slide. Actually it is better to practice a bit: what slides down and what not. So you don't have those sliding down objects when the glue is already applied. Thank you for the film, I applied already the cover. Don't know if everything is done correctly (the top next to the window moves a bit, maybe bcs I applied glue closer to the edge than 1"), but everything looks perfect so far. I have one question: if I decide to replace the front part (around instrumental cluster) do I need to remove the Dashskin?

I don't believe you have to remove the entire dash, just pop up up enough to have clearance to remove the gauge cluster trim .

What if you're just completely missing that whole piece it's not cracked or anything it's just completely gone and it's just the metal up under it could you still place this on top

Yes, but you’ll need something soft under it to prevent it from rattling and annoying the daylights out of you. Go to Michael’s or JoAnnes Fabrics, buy the green foam, cut to the dimensions of the DashSkin and make sure it’s pretty thin (1/2” tops). Glue the foam to the car, glue the dashskin to the foam

Can you use regular low weight dumbbells?

02chevyguy as long as they are heavy enough to press the dash skin with the epoxy on it into the old dash. Generally the heavier the weight the better the adhesion. I did use simple leg weights in the middle area, but towards the sides I’d use heavier stuff

With the cavalier out of production, it is hard. I found a really good condition cavalier in a junkyard that had only recently been placed there and hadn’t baked in the sun. I would recommend calling around or searching local junkyards

all you have to do is glue it? i thought you are supposed to remove the broken dash vent

From their instructions they say to keep as many pieces of the old dash together with tape and glue the new one on top of it. Without the original one as a base, it would sit too low. I recommend putting some foam in there as well so it doesn’t rattle

Not necessarily, I ended up replacing it before I sold my car and the old dash skin ripped out the last bits of cracked pieces. I ended up cutting foam to the same dimensions and glued it to the car and the dash skin to the foam, even quieter now

The actual DashSkin is super light. Can’t be more than a couple of pounds

My mom just gave me her 1996. Part in question that piece is cracked in two places. Each front door panel has a crack. Rest interior looks just about perfect. Has 66100 miles on it. For sale $3200.

Hippie Lewis I wish you luck in selling. I just sold this car, a 2004 with 196,000 miles for $1700 and that was after numerous low ball offers. Unfortunately Chevy eco-boxes aren’t worth much. I do have a spare dash skin for $60 + shipping if you’re interested . Brand new in box.
