10 ай бұрын2023: Auckland University of Technology study, to test out new techniques for stroke rehab. It involves EEG to read the brain signal, and computer-driven FES to stimulate the leg muscles at the right time.
This is a followup from an earlier study, to ascertain the effectiveness of short-burst intensive use of this modality.

Hi Murray and Jacklyn (I hope I’ve spelled your name corrected) I’m a stroke survivor too. My stroke, 18 months ago, was a brain bleed and a bad one. My wife was told that I might not make it through the first night in hospital and wasn’t allowed to come and see me for the first week. Did I hear you correctly that your stroke was in 1995? That seems like a very long time ago to now be making recovery videos. What happened in the intervening years? We’re you too I’ll for physio or was it just not available to you at the time. You seem to be making good progress now so I look forward to following your journey.

Chris, Thanks for reaching out - hope your recovery is going well. Intervening years ... 1995-96, limited out-patient physio 30minutes every two weeks then it stopped > NHS had other priorities. Physio services quite expensive, so we did our own thing until 2005 when we moved to Spain for 5 years. Recovery has been very slow but we won't give up. When we returned to NZ in 2011 Jackie got into stroke research with local Universities that opened up on-tap economical therapy from a wide spread of qualified practitioners.
