I wonder if the header shield wrinkled paint would make it look even cleaner. Since it’ll match the valve cover and intake. And if the paint will sustain the heat. ( it should)

I might paint the shield, but will probably go with more of an OEM finish like silver or black.

Wwwwwoooowwww! That black crx is clean as fuck. Im here because of DBG. I luv the intake but i would of made it a heat shield so its not sucking in hot air.

Not a big fan of those kind of intakes you lose horsepower. Used to have a JDM password one back in the day. When I had my car tuned I lost horsepower and I went back to a normal short ram intake.

Interesting. What were the horsepower number differences? I’m not entirely concerned, considering this is just a work car and only has 106hp anyway. Maybe one day I’ll get around to swapping it.

It's a shame to have your intake sucking in all that hot radiator air floating around under the hood. You should install some hood heat vents like an Evo

Love the content. Quick question, how accurate is your factory ef tach with the b16 . I have a gsr in mine and my tach was off by about 500/1000 rpm. Just wondering. I swaped to an aftermarket tach and it works but I miss the stock cluster

Honestly, I don’t have an easy way to check how accurate it is. VTEC seems to engage when the tach shows around 5500 on. It’s set to engage at 5800.

Coty our Honda tachs are known to be inaccurate the higher the rpms go. That being said Seth appears to be running the VTi cluster which was built for a B16. One would assume it’s more accurate at 8k then say an HF cluster at 8k

I haven’t tested the VTI cluster with the VTEC crossover. I was referring to my previous Si cluster with the B16A.

I’ve been daily driving this for the past year, so if I did, it didn’t matter! Pretty sure I got it re-installed though. :)

how many minutes did you let the valve cover dry for until you came back and sprayed the next coat?

I’ve learned that waiting too long can cause the wrinkles to not form properly. I wait about 5 minutes, but not in hot weather. Hot weather is hard to paint with good results with this wrinkle paint.

Not as much. Not opposed to one, but they are more difficult to make look good, in my opinion. Kenji at Greddy has a couple super nice ones.

It might raise your AIT if you don’t make some sort of fresh/cold air box for it.

Probably lost hp though. Unless you have an exhaust to go with it and do a tune, the stock intakes are generally designed perfectly with the engines current capabilities and then you go and mess that up just so it sounds cool
