Amazingly Hasty's pick 6 in OT vs. the Raiders happened on the day Pat Mahomes was born.

It is always weird watching these video yearbooks when a team has a great regular season such as this Chiefs team did and then it just ends abruptly because the team choked out in the playoffs and obviously NFL Films doesn't want to make reference to it because they are trying to keep it all positive.

As a Chiefs fan we really had these great regular seasons and would suddenly go kaput in playoffs. For close to 30 years as a Chiefs fan I'd sit and know ....well we had a great regular season. Time to go on vacation. It feels like a burden was released when KC won not just in playoffs...but Super Bowl. It made me so happy and I can look at this 1995 season and go....well it worth it to make it.

Not using Rich Gannon in the mid 90s in playoff games was what kept from a title game or 2 appearance. I always wondered if it was Marty or Carl wanting Bono and Grbac instead of Gannon. Gannon IMHO would have won the '95 and '97 divisional games.

The '95 Chiefs should have been in the Super Bowl playing the Cowboys it would have been a great game.

True, since we already saw the Steelers vs. the Cowboys in 1975 and 1978.

Kansas City would've lost either Superbowl 30 or the AFC championship verses a Pittsburgh Steelers determine to eliminate the ghost from their 1994 AFC championship game loss to the San Diego chargers

That year it seemed like Steve Bono had finally arrived. That he had studied Steve Young and Joe Montana while he was their backup all those years and learned to become a legitimate starter, if such a thing could be taught.

The Kansas City Chiefs 1995 Highlight Film was narrated by the voice of the ABC Sunday/Monday Night Movie and a DJ on the ABC Radio Network, Joel Crager.

Montana should’ve came back for one more year...

If Dawson didn't drop Gannon's pass at the end of the playoff game, we wouldn't have needed Montana. Gannon was better than Montana would have been in '95.
@PhilJHaast76954 жыл бұрын
Montana played well in 1994, but he wanted to quit while he was still ahead. He didn't quite have the durability of Warren Moon or Brett Favre.

That team underachieved, not suprised that they didn't show the playoff loss to the Colts!

1997 Chiefs were the best team they ever had under Marty imo. The QB debacle and all. Be great if you had it!?

My capture software won't let me copy the years 97-00..My videos from 92-00 were all store bought ones made by NFL films but the last 4 must have had copy write detection put in them. Wish I could get them on as well. Thanks for watching.
@petrofor34307 жыл бұрын
PGHotboy shoulda won the bowl that year. If we convert the 44 yarder or if the Tony G TD was called properly we win the game and probably beat the Steelers at home...

I remember uploading these almost 5 years not realizing how many would enjoy them. I feel that it started a trend of youtubers uploading their sports videos. Not data to prove that other than the upload dates, but it's fun to watch it all. GO CHIEFS!!!

@@G0Chiefs You have no idea how much I love this. At my Superbowl party were gonna throw a couple of these on before the game. Live through the years of pain in 30 min segments. Also I just love old school NFL Films. Much love.

Marty had a role to play in that too. He could have put Gannon in much earlier, and they could have stuck with the run more (it was so cold that day that I still don't understand why they didn't run more often).

Chiefs should have been in the Super Bowl that year. Unfortunately they had Bono at QB. He had a solid season, but then reverted back to being Steve Bono in the postseason.
@PhilJHaast76954 жыл бұрын
Bono was an average quarterback. He was playing better than that for much of the season but seemed to decline as the season wore on.
