David Letterman is the most naturally funny guy in broadcast TV history

Reminds of an incident back in 1969. I was going to a college in Kentucky and we had a 10 watt station and could play "Rockn Roll". One night the D.J. played "Lay Lady Lay" 3 times in a row. The next broadcast day it was a "Christian Music" only. ;-)

For those wondering, Dave's prediction about the Indy 500 that year was just a little off. Bobby Rahal didn't win; he came in 3rd.

I liked Dave at this time when he didn't wear his glasses on air.

It seems like when Dave would be interviewed he felt that every other thing he said had to be funny. Would have been nice if he just backed off that a bit.
