@freddyhollingsworth59453 жыл бұрын
95 was the last year with that air bag on the steering wheel. 96 got the new air bag and the front door courtesy lights still lighted up. 97 the door courtesy lights don't light up. That's how you tell a 95, 96, from a 97. Super solid cars. Keep a close watch on the engine oil level as they can burn oil (valve stem seals). Look at the under intake heater hose right behind the alternator is a little 5 inch section of rubber hose.(look for bulging or dry rot).. Smear a blob of chassis grease on the bump stops on the front suspension to prevent the loud popping and screeching sound in a parking lot with the steering wheel cut as sharp as it can turn. Torque converter shudder is common, do a pan drop every 30,000 miles and a new filter, reuse the factory pan gasket. Add 5 quarts of new transmission fluid. If the shuddering doesn't go away or comes back soon, add a tube of Dr. Tranny instant shudder Eliminator or equivalent including Ford limited slip rear axle friction modifier(add 1 ounce of the friction modifier and then another ounce if that didn't fix it). These timing sets on these older ones have metal tensioners and the chain guides have metal spine. These timimg sets usually last the life of the car, unlike the newer versions. Check the lower ball joints every year. 95 was the last year for the full metal intake manifold. These are true 500,000 mile cars with the normal neglectful drivers as long as they don't run them out of engine oil, these cars will out last most all other cars on the road today.. including brand new 2021 models.
