I was there (next to the MacSteel advert), the greatest 2 hours I ever had, goosebumps! Great vid. What few know is when Pienaar was interviewed on the field and was asked to thank the 70,000 crowd for their support, he instead thanked the 50 million South Africans, this did a lot to prevent a full civil war that was very close at the time.

I'll never forget this! Watched on TV in the bedroom with my 2 kids & Yorkie dog. The Haka didn't intimidate our Bokke one bit! Nail biting suspense! Us hoarse from yelling! My son's bed pillow popped, stuffing flying all over the place! Me peeking through my fingers at the end. My kids leaping on & off the beds, dog's tail wagging like mad. I fell in love with Joel Stransky. James Small didn't even flinch, he took on Jona Lomu no problem! Chester Williams ran like the wind! Joost van der Westhuizen & Capt Francois Pienaar. Our Madiba in his No. 6 jersey, we all loved him Nelson Mandela. Final whistle we/SA won! My BP was through the roof! My heart raced! Cars honking for hours! So proud of our Bokke & our Madiba. Sadly, they are gone now - Madiba, James Small, Chester Williams & Joost van der Westhuizen - & Jona Lomu too - they are missed but will never be forgotten. Thank you, Springboks & All Blacks, for the most exciting sports game I have ever watched! xx

really - what a doos - poisoned before the match - the only "poison" in the All Blacks was their own arrogance believing they were just going to roll SA over and that Lomu was their secret weapon to cut the line at will - well, whenever he touched the ball he was tackled properly and low to cut him down - wonder why the All Blacks never provided any simple blood test analysis from all the players to prove this "poisoning" myth - pathetic actually that a lie had to be thought up to cover for their frailties and arrogance -

@@LB_die_Kaapie anyone can report anything? It's a known fact you south Africans forget to report everytime this world cup is mentioned. Hahaha they said that about the last 2 right? Tbh I'd love to see Argentina or Ireland win it! No every kiwi just wants to see them win every year

The South Africans should have brought a gangs of Zulus to perform a war chant in full Zulu martial gear! No less intimidating that the haka of the Kiwis! Just see the movie "Zulu!"

Shame there were not only no tries, but apparently in 100 minutes, not a single decent run with the ball!

Agreed. I watched this live in 1995 and I told my then-boyfriend this game was won by penalties and drop kicks. Stransky's golden boot indeed.
