Another classic from my high school days. Something I always looked forward to hitting. What are your thoughts about these Callaway irons?

I was born in late 1995, and took an interest into golf around 5 years old. But for the longest time, my dad has always played with these clubs, until I was big enough to use them myself. When I finally got to use clubs that size, my dad bought a new set of irons, and gave me his berthas. Fast forward to today, and I still play with those irons, never reshafted, only a new grip. I have been to countless demos, I have hit different irons at golf shops, and I have played with newer irons for a rental set, but none of those have ever given me the feeling that these clubs have given me. my clubs are 25 years old, and they still outclass the new irons that are coming out today.

100% agree 'Tater Games' - I use the big bertha gold irons (very similar design) from the same year. Modern clubs are not as long, not as forgiving. Also these clubs are so hard to shank with. Who cares about the chunky look if you are hitting good golf shots. Maybe the only downside is distance control - I personally haven't found that an issue but I've read heard that said.

Best irons ever made. I used to sell them back in 1999. They are still my clubs I use to this day. You just cannot miss with them. Believe me, I've tried them all.

I got those. But i only play 9 hole course with only par 3. Been using them for years, and they defintly are forgiving and are easy to use. When i play with some friends that never play, they also hit better with these clubs. And, i didn`t look the irons up before today, lol. Did not think they where from the 90s!

...one of those irons that when you pick it up and take a few practice swings, the weight, balance and feel seem perfect! Inspires confidence from the start. I still have a complete set of these irons combined with some classic TM drivers,Adams fairway woods and old Cleveland wedges on stand- by in my basement for the times my newer, advanced technology clubs start making me crazy. Play one or two rounds with these oldies and my game comes right back in balance. Try it!

I just bought a set of these 3 thru PW used from Callaway certified used website. Paid $124 for them they are in great shape and I even got a warranty 1 year. Had them add .5" to the length as well. I Put together an entire set. Picked up a 10 degree Big Betha Steel Head driver, a Big Bertha 4 hybrid 2019, and a Odyssey Putter. Got it all for a little over $300 shipped and could not be happier with all the clubs. Figured it was better then a ready to go box set from say DICKS sporting goods or a big box store.

Played the 1994 Big Bertha Irons. Playing against our club pro took a skins match on the seventh hole with an ace on the 205 yard par three seventh hole, 5 iron for the win and 6 carry overs plus the seventh. Our pro and the pro from a neighboring course for witnesses, Callaway Golf sent me a beautiful jewelry box for the ace using their clubs. This was in 1995.

Callaway really has changed over the years haven't they. Apex Pro, X Forged prototype, downright muscleback blades from a company that became famous for big gaudy offset game improvement irons. I think the changing really started when they aquired Hogan. Not a fan of these but the X12 and X14 irons, particularly the pro versions, were an improvement at least in looks, long too. There was no shortage of "big " or oversize irons back then, the King Cobra oversize irons were nice.

Such BS. These clubs were revolutionary, and vastly improved the game of anybody who used them. These irons and clubs like these (ie Ping Eye's and Titleist DCi's) strike pure terror into the hearts of club manufacturers. The industry is frantically opposed to these irons as they are very expensive to make and very anti-obsolescence, which is at the very core of the golf industry. Most clubs today are pure rubbish for a reason - you will buy a new set next year to replace them because they are so terrible. My latest Mavrik irons are so bad they would only be useful to whack the idiots who convinced me to buy them.
