DJ is my all time favorite Nascar driver/racer ever! I miss the #88 red/blue QCFC Ford

With you brother. A hard racer, but at the same time a gentleman of the sport. You see stuff like poor Texas Terry getting dumped TWICE by one of the sports heros, never did Jarrett do anything like that, esp not on purpose. Yet he drove to many victories and a championship. Didn't need to be "intimidating" to win. Just needed that Yates hp and a cool collected driver who hadn't made enemies out there to do it. Miss you on the track DJ. Been about a decade since I've been to a race. Just isn't the same without our 88

They got another race afterwards, the ARCA race. Who doesn't love to see Amateur Racers Causing Accidents?

@@jcearnhardt393 no... nascar tv ratings kept rising after dale’s death. It was Brian France who killed the sport.

Yeah it wasn't Big E's death that wrecked it. I know it wasn't as much fun for me after the other Dale "88" retired. But just too many changes to a working system killed it

Jarrett goes from the back to second in one lap and they're talking about the other Dale. Lol. The way it was back then.

@0:57 into the video, it's remarkable how the CBS producers got Jeff and Dale to be side-by-side in that segment for their soundbites; given they were going to race shortly.

I still don’t understand why everyone still thinks these two didn’t like each other all these years later… it is well documented they had an incredible amount of respect for each other

Elliot, 85 or 87, the field couldn't even keep up with his draft. Even the fellow Ford drivers were crying

I was wondering the exact same when i saw the thumbnail lol

I believe he either won a pole in 95 or was racing in a car that won a pole
@trevortuominen82338 ай бұрын
Marcis was the wild card entry.

Before 2001, every race had 2 rounds of qualifying. The fastest second-round qualifier would be entered in a drawing to be the wild card entry for the Busch Clash/Bud Shootout, if he didn't win a Pole Award that year. Dave was the fastest 2nd round qualifier somewhere in 1995, and was the randomly selected wild card entry.
