1997-2003 Buick Regal window regulator replacement.

Today I'm back on the lousy Buick that belongs to my wife. My daughter wrecked the regulator playing with the window switch, so in 40 Celsius heat. im outside pulling one off my parts car...and replacing it. I wish I could convince her to get a newer car, but she loves her Regal.

I happen to be very fond of those old Buicks myself. Biggest mistake GM made was discontinuing the 3.8 liter engine

contact national transportation safety commission, since this power window problem is endemic to buicks especially regals, make buick repair the problem

Do you have suggestions for (bench) testing the motor? I thought my motor was still working, and the window malfunction was broken plastic clip/unattached cable, just as on this video. But, (weeks later) I first tried the master switch, and then tried to hook up to 12v, without any indication of the motor trying to work. Is there some safety lockout on the motor or something. ...? How do I check it?

There is no safety lockout that I know of. I have just run 12 volts and a ground to test them in the past. I have never had a motor burn out, its usually the plastic bits that fail...but that doesn't mean they don't crap out.

I have a 93 Buick regal and the front passenger side front window is going up and down but turning sideways. I can't find a replacement regulator to save my life....

Look up Dorman #751-777 anywhere you can get Dorman products should be able to order you one.

I just had one go bad in my 00 century. If I didn't want to spend 150 to fix it, is there any way to get it to stay in the up position (without duct tape :)

You can use a small set of vice grips to stop the window from sliding down the track. Just clamp it on just under the glass roller mounts on the track.

@@jeremyrowe743 And I just saw non oem motor and regulator only 38$, I saw 150$ at first and was like whaaaat! :) :) . so ill just fix it, thanks for the video

You can only buy as a complete assembly ( cash grab) unless you have access to a parts car...then you just replace what you need.

contact national transportation safety commission and file a complaint because ALL buick regals have issues with the power window mechanism breaking,. imo this is done intentionally by buick to make money in repairs
