if you use NGK iridium plugs, they have a metal coating on the threads and they recommend that you do not use anti-seize

Gd job! Thank 4 remind 2 us that putting on anti-sieze grease on spark plus threads preventing from frozen n not be able 2 take our of EVEN break on top of plastic part of plug SHOULD not be forgetten if U want to be able to take the plugs out when ready 2 change! Plus, dielectric-grease on coil on plug where spark pulg contact is also important not to ruin top of U know... Also having inexpensive power tool makes job so much easier n save time n efforts! One can use also power drill n buy adoptive socket wrench n conver to usually 1/2 to 3/8 adopter due 2 most of spark plug wrench hole is 3/8 size.

I've read a lot of comments about what spark plugs every1 uses.. But in my experience and total value. NGK n Denso all day!! Don't use no other brand than those two. Some might be pricey but we'll worth the performance. Ur car is a investment. Take care of it and it will last u a long time. Don't buy them at ur local auto stores either. Those guys tax the shit out of u... I always order from Amazon or other websites for a way better price. Hope this helps any1👍

Autozone told me, and experience, use NGK or Bosch iridium plugs. I used Autolite, twice, oops, fouled out. Right now Autolites are being discontinued, rebated, sale price, etc. to dump them maybe? Sorry for bummer news, and they are not pre-gapped 100%. Bosch is pre-gapped, better, etc., and yes, I LOVE my 2002 Corolla, runs good, few repairs in my 12 years, even maintainance. The new Corollas are super superior, yet underpowered compared to Camry, oops, cannot afford that, and they are bigger. Excellent video, good tools, superior process to my rip and tear method.

Hello, my check engine light came on and I scanned the car's comp. gave me the p0300 code for random cylinder misfire. It can't be the wires because my Corolla is plug-on-coil. So it's either the plugs or the ignition coils? I replaced the plugs a few months back with the Bosch Platinum Ir Fusion, but I didn't put any of the grease on the plugs or coils. I'm thinking it might be the coils?
@NutzAboutBolts
@NutzAboutBolts 9 жыл бұрын
***** did it say which cylinder? check the gap of that cylinder spark plugs, then swap out the ignition coil with a different coil that is working to see if its that cylinder or if its that ignition coil. gl.

Anyone know if you have to use a special spark plug socket or can you just use a normal long socket, and if so what size?
@NutzAboutBolts
@NutzAboutBolts 3 жыл бұрын
You can use a 5/8 socket but you’ll need a way to get the spark plugs out. The spark plug 5/8 socket already has a built in magnet or rubber inserts that grabs the spark plugs so you can just pull it up. Hope that helps

farhancpa copper replaces every 30k, platinum is every 90k. You can use platinum, but if the OEM is called for copper, I would just go with copper. But if you want to use platinum, you can still use it.

Take the plugs out and then pour b12 chemtool down the holes with a funnel to soak overnight and clear out the oil return holes. Check DIYDAVE channel here for detailed instruction. Check timing chain tensioner for leak, replace o ring or whole tensioner, but extra O rings , perhaps oversize and replace as needed.

Help? Okay so my 2000 has a P0136 (o2 sensor circuit malfunction bank 1 sensor 2) now it is randomly throwing P0301 cylinder 1 misfire detected. My question is can a bad o2 sensor cause a misfire? Or can a misfire be causing the bad o2 sensor code?
@NutzAboutBolts
@NutzAboutBolts 8 жыл бұрын
+Evan93 fix the misfire first, check cylinder 1 spark plugs, and ignition coils and cylinder to see if anything is causing the misfir. After that, erase all codes and check if any codes pop up again. O2 sensor responds to engine issues, it checks for gasses to see if it's out of range or not enough. If it's bad, it'll also have o2 Sensor problems as well
